January Transfer Window 2026

You understand why Moyes plays O'Brien over him despite the only two matches we've won recently, he has started.
I don't know eggs. I'm not sure you're seeing this one clearly.

My point is people (including Moyes) can have blind spots or prejudices against players and ignore what's right in front of their eyes because of it.
I wouldn't put it past Moyes to go right back to his favored back four given the chance despite the wins and clean sheets.
I think for this season at least, as soon as NP has been fit enough to play a large part, he’s played (ie since Sunderland). Whether through luck or otherwise I’m not sure the manager can be blamed at all for not picking an injured/not match fit player.

Amazingly, this is actually the third Friedkin window. They sat on their hands last January - perhaps understandably as they had just come in - and they failed to have their competent professionals in for the summer window, which was subsequently inadequate. And now? Window number three. We were told that this rebuild would take multiple windows. We all accepted that as bitter reality. It's very hard to take people calling for patience seriously when they don't use two of their first three windows to actually implement the rebuild...

Superb post.

6 windows i have heard a lot from people well using their track record that will be 5 years away…

Spurs playing Gray & Bergvall together as the 2 in a 4231.

Meanwhile our manager is frightened to use Aznou or Dibling for a run of games to build them up.

So many missed opportunities so far this season. Hopefully the Grealish injury and McNeils performance ceiling opens the door for some young player development.

I'll be annoyed if we sign a wide player.

We need a RB. Thats it unless we sell Beto or McNeil

you are partly right, but i think Armstrong is showing more than Dibling at the moment. Besides Dibling came with PL experience. Of course it is our own wrong doing we paid so much fio him while we dont have Man City budget. I would have expected a bit more though from him so far and i dont see him being anywhere near replacing Grealish at the moment

At 19 i think Grealish wasnt playing for Villa (and prorbaly still Irish) and Ndiaye was playing for Boreham Wood. I think a little bit of prespective on Dibling is good mate.

I find the psychology around his fee interesting, 30-35 mill isnt a lot of money in the PL - its just not anymore - Bournmouth spent in on some kid from Brazil no one heard off earlier today.

I think people need to get their heads out of the Moshiri era and penny pinching, we've invested that money in Dibling over the medium to long term and its bog standard PL money these days, we should be spending it.
