Pray for the people in Gaza and Raf a, after last night Israel will try and shift the narrative at home, like every bully they will target the weakest kid in the class they can find.
It’s a W in regards of the iron dome, but generally speaking it was more of a warning from Iran than a serious attack and Iran were seemingly well aware virtually everything would be intercepted. If it were a more serious attack you would’ve seen Hezbollah and the Houthi’s launching attacks at the same time, as well as Iran using their larger ballistic missiles which have much higher velocity than the ordinance they used in this salvoWouldn't that be more of a W for Israel? 300+ Drones/missiles sent and intercepted, that's a display of strength that very few countries could display... Iran have said they consider the matter closed Israel should and hopefully will do the same.
The next 48 hours will be interesting.Yeah, the Iranians gave everybody two weeks notice of a “ surprise attack “ and basically sent the reserve team.
If the Israelis had any sense they’d let things ride. However that’s not the Israeli plan so expect further serious upping of the ante.
That's more or less what Biden is saying. We'll shoot stuff down, but we won't support or participate in offensive operations.I think the US just need to tell Israel to take the L on this one. Far as I can tell the Iranian attack didn’t actually kill anyone, and they have to accept they provoked it by bombing Irans embassy
That definitely wouldn’t be the objective. If they do decided to respond, it’ll likely a coordinated assault from the air. That's more or less what Biden is saying. We'll shoot stuff down, but we won't support or participate in offensive operations.
Iran is a very long way away from Israel's borders. That's a huge distance for a minor power to project power across. I don't think the Israelis are kitted out for an actual war without U.S. logistical support. They have a military designed to meet the threats on their borders, not one capable of conducting an amphibious invasion from the Persian Gulf.
Sure. My point is that this can only go so far as a conflict, with the U.S. on the sidelines. They can trade warshots, but it can't intensify past a Kosovo sort of air campaign. That definitely wouldn’t be the objective. If they do decided to respond, it’ll likely a coordinated assault from the air.
They’ve been practising for months now using Greece as the target (which is the same distance as Iran from Israel’s borders).Sure. The problem they face is a lack is air-air refuelling capabilities. Would the US help them out here?
They’d overfly Syria and Iraq. Nothing much Assad could do to stop them and Iraq seem pretty much okay with it.Would Arab states let them us their airspace though ?

I think their govt would allow overfly rights. Also if they did object, there’s not much they could do against an entire wing of Israeli F-35’s and accompanying EW aircraft that would be jamming all ground and airborne radars. Not sure that Iraq which as a strong Shia population and very close ties to Iran would be okay with it.
In fact I’m certain they wouldn’t be okay with it

Granted overfly could and probably would cause diplomatic issues between Israel, US and Iraq I think that Israel would take this as acceptable mission risk given the overall bigger picture.I think their govt would allow overfly rights.
