This started because the Israeli forces tried to storm the al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem whilst people were praying during Ramadan.

Not to mention settler attacks on Palestinian communities with IDF protection in case the Palestinians retaliate which is never reported in western press circles.

Could be Netanyahu is doing this deliberately to stay in power which would also benefit Hamas too now the elections are postponed

Yes Kushner's Vision for Peace I think it was called. One-sided, almost an Israeli wish-list, drawn up with no input at all from the Palestinians, and then presented as if it was something they should be grateful for. Doomed to failure.

The Abraham Accords I had no problem with - any peace treaty is good and can promote better understanding. The one with the UAE was especially interesting with Mohammed Dahlan's role followed by his return to Palestinian politics and growing popularity in Gaza. But again the accords were promoted as a way of Israel obtaining security without a settlement with the Palestinians - effectively sidelining them.

This is something that's not being mentioned enough. The catalyst was attacking a building of worship full of people during the most holiest of months. Absolutely scandalous.
