Perhaps Morgan has shown he can be sound away from alleged bad influences.

Agree with the rest there though.
He also had decent games against Liverpool and Chelsea off the top off my head, not sure why we'd leave them out. Add to that the fact he was statistically better than the others and yes, i'll say again that he was our best centre half - easily. He used to be very good, then he was good, now he's just about adequate back up, next year he needs to be gone.I don’t see how he was “better” over the course of the season though. He had the odd good game, but so did Williams, Keane and Holgate actually when Allardyce first came in. Jagielka in the first half of the season was an embarrassment, particularly Spurs away, Southampton away and Arsenal at home. His good games came towards the end of the season against the likes of Brighton and Stoke, so that’s all people remember.
I will ask my older brother his FF source he see now and then - all the source has stated so far is Silva is a likable guy - with Brands doing a lot of the player negotiations - heard nothing as yet.....

I take your point and enjoy the debate but I’d liken it to the arrival of Phil Neville. The main reason Moyes brought him in was to manage and break the player problems caused by Ferguson. I have no links to the club now, just believe in consecutive managers who know more about elite football than anyone on this forum. He definitely shouldn’t be starting but as a club captain managers must value his input or wouldn’t do it. Shouldn’t stop discussion though. With the best will in the world how could that description be applied to Jagielka? He's at best bang average as a CB now; he's the worst captain we've ever had at the club in my experience; he's knocking on 40 years of age and we are a PL club with top 6 aspirations.
If he's getting games this season and retaining the armband then Silva is just the latest in a line of managers who cant swing the axe where it matters.
While abysmal last season, he was very good in his first 6 months.Hopefully you're right. Im looking forward to the next stage of his late development....where he makes a contribution to the team
Improves mentality and creates positive boundaries in my opinion, there is no right to be in the first team squad or near it. And all players are now aware they will be excused from the first team if expected standards are not met. And If one or two of the current inglorious excused pull their socks up I would like to think there is a way back if individual negatives are improved upon!

I’m howling at the idea that Williams , Vlasic and Kev have been booted out because of attitude problems, and Cuco is just proper crap lol
On a side note , Vlasic was Split’s great white hope, Croatia’s heir to the throne and has likely been king of the hill since he was a tiny kid. Wouldn’t be surprised if his ego has taken a thrashing and he’s kicking out tbh
I was reading about football contracts and it seems that some players have a clause in their contract which specifies that they are members of the First Team Squad and that they are to be treated as such throughout the length of their contract. A club would be obviously in breach of contract to treat a player with a clause of that nature in the way that these four have been. Whether any Everton player has a contract with a first team clause in it I have no way of knowing but I would expect players bought for big fees and those bought from richer, more successful clubs might be the most likely candidates to have a contract with a clause like this.
