From a selfish financial point of view, I own property in co. Louth. It's finally starting to recover from 2008, a border will not help.
I think Varadkar should have met with the guys in NI, decided what they want, and then NI and the ROI told the U.K. and EU respectively, this is what we both want........no politics, this is what we want.....
The EU and the Irish are demanding one in the Irish sea.And we don’t want one either. So again, who is it that is demanding one......
TBf Michael portillo right at that time related that backstop deal on NI would haunt Theresa May ... he was spot on......Ok so you want the Irish primeminister to meet with the politicians in the north, figure out what most of them want, come to an agreement, then tell the EU and the UK?
That's the back stop and the EU and UK agreed to it in December.

I don't think you're correct here. SF/SDLP/Alliance/greens (the majority of NI Assembly pols) have been in constant contact with Varadkar and the EU, while the DUP have obviously been in constant contact with May.No they didn’t. It was done the other way around, where the U.K. and EU had a discussion and left the NI guys out of it.....

NI are.So it’s the EU and the ROI, because neither NI nor the U.K. are demanding one......

Not sure anyone is to be honest, for me it’s quite simple Ireland and the EU simply want the upholding of an international agreement that was agreed with integrity and ratified by the United Nations.
Brexit isn’t Irelands issue it’s the UK’s.
NI are.
Varadkar is speaking to the majority of politicians in NISo the main protagonists didn’t speak to each other, and they should have done, like I said......
SF/SDLP/Alliance/greens are all in favor of the backstopWhere, when.......
