Give him a start might aswell, not gonna win anyway can't score goals so another nil for us but he's got to get game time although Martinez'll start Howard he'll play his best 11

Its clearly going to be Joel so there isn't much discussion on that front.

i just think it is odd to continually play him in the latter stages as you would imagine as back up keeper he is not as good as the first choice one? therefore you would want who you consider your best keeper to be playing and the worse one covering.

Anyway........ In martinez we trust and all that.

Does anyone know, if Robles was playing league games for Wigan when they won the cup.

Was he the only goal keeper available to wigan? was there main keeper injured?

Is this a serious question? Its basically all that's left for this season. To drop Howard would be nothing short of a joke and would bring many of us to question if RM is actually the right man.

Robles has started every cup game in both competitions this season for us mate, whilst Howard has been available for selection, to me that kinda states he was signed as both the backup and to play in the cup games, the two aren't mutually exclusive you know

Zero ITK but it seems rational to assume Robles could have played for at least a Championship level club and been their clear # 1. Also options overseas of course. I am not sure he signs for us without some assurances about some level of actual game-time and it appears like he was given the Cups.

I can't see this scenario: "I know you don't want to be just a back-up so if you sign with us you can play all our Cup games ... until we draw someone good. Then you're on the bench mate because you're useless." ... playing out well. (Also he isn't useless. There isn't much to choose between them -- I'm a Howard fan but I am confident with Robles too.)

I don't see how he can switch at this point without going back on his word to someone. The idea he gave Robles the Cups (unless we drew someone good) just seems too weird. The idea he has just been benching Howard every time in the Cups without having talked it over with them both and established a plan in pre-season also seems unlike RM.

Laughing.

Didn't work at all for Wigan when Martinez played their second choice keeper in the Cup, did it.

Not really arsed what happened with Wigan last season. We're 90 minutes away from Wembley and a chance of a good draw in the semi's. To not play Howard would be [Poor language removed] outrageous.

What is it with this bollocks anyway, you wouldn't drop other key players to play the second string. Daft.
