Question for you, whats Howard done to think if he starts its a significant boost to our chances, whats Robles done to make you so sure he will cost us the game?

Tim Howard being our number 1 is a good indicator, I'd say. I'm not suggesting Robles would necessarily cost us the game, but why would you not want to play your absolute best XI in such a huge game?

Robles is a good goalkeeper. I'd have no qualms with him playing.

To the question of how do I think should play - Howard, all day long.

For a variety of reasons, it's just the fact the keeper position is very rarely rotated outside of the trend to use a keeper in the cup and another in the league over recent years - see arsenal vs the rs for that and also some teams do similar in eufa etc
that aside the fact is robles has played well whenever he's been called upon in the cup or when Howard had a suspension, so confidence will be their, howards confidence is probably not the highest now either for just cause as that was a clanger on the weekend, and i wouldnt discount the effect having the cup winning keeper in their from last season may have

Let's be totally honest.

Shouldn't we be more worried about who is going to score is some actually goals here?

Agreed, whichever keeper plays i feel we will get at least a ok to good performance from, im more worried about Barkleys loss of form and the fact Lukaku may not be back for it or if so his form stays as was and the fact the centre mid must be close to burn out by now

Yeah I understand your reasoning behind all that mate, and a lot of it has it's merits.

Nothing will convince me it's a good idea though. I've never understood the trend to play the reserve keeper in the cups, at least not in the latter stages, it's just a way of keeping them sweet to the detriment of the team imo. Bottom line for me is that 9/10 we'd have a better chance of getting to Wembley with Howard in the nets.

Based on what though ?

Howard. No more messing about now. This is the business end of the cup at a very very hard place to go. We play our best team. Full stop
