Howard or Robles in Goal against Arsenal in FA Cup

It would be a bit harsh on Howard if we won the cup with Robles in goal considering he's been our first choice for 8 years now, without winning anything.

Could argue that sometimes erratic performances from him has been part of the reason for that record though too maybe, im just of the opinion that if a manager decides that one of the keepers is gonna be his 'cup keeper' then he does his part to get them their he deserves to see it all the way through

I don't necessarily disagree mate. If Robles gets us to the final he deserves to play but I just can't help feeling it would be a little harsh on Howard.

I think that this will have been thought through, and I also think it would be fair to play Timbo in the final. If this is the case then I would imagine Robles would know well in advance. I think he would be okay with it too, considering the circumstances.

Agree mate, but sometimes the game is pretty harsh, as Bicycle says above though, i think prior to the cup run it was probably all laid out in theory about who gets to play up to what stage etc

Hope Robles plays and puts in a MOTM performance for us as we go through to the semi's. I'm actually hoping Howard has someone replacing him before next season, a much better player but I havent seen--whats the info?

They are both pretty bad on their kicking in fairness.

We should swoop for Victor Valdes when he leaves Barca this summer, I'm sure Deulo has been raving about life by the Mersey.

Shocked that anyone dosent want to play our strongest players in the biggest game of the season and make a serious effort to win this, the cup is all we have left now. Robles was shaky against very poor teams, him up agaisnt Arsenal? we know the keeper is going to get worked, forget it.
If we are going to play Robles we have to play a full second eleven to go with him!! if Robles is good enough for this game he should play every week.

As this is a season defining game, RM needs to understand that our season will be over if we lose. Does he want to take a risk with Robles.

If he wants to give Robles a chance, play him against West Ham and lower teams in the premier league.

Robles can not kick the ball very well, and as we like to pass the ball back to the keeper - it causes us issues.

95% Howard is ok kicking the ball and passing it.

If RM promised Robles the Cup games to sign him then it's a moot point -- he won't change now because we drew Arsenal.

It is harsh on Howard but this was presumably all handled in pre-season -- changing now seems like it would weaken RM's word with his players which doesn't seem like a good idea. I'm sure Howard wants to play ... but he also likely doesn't want to play for a manager who goes back on his word for no reason (Robles got us this far -- what has he done to lose the job?).

So it should and will be Robles.
