Holgate Racially Abused By Firmino - The Guardian

Watching Soccer Saturday in Sky. They've reviewed the RS/City game and not a sausage mentioned about Firmino.

We'll see what is said on the Spurs/Everton review. They may be planning to discuss both matters on that.
Touched on it very briefly, from the viewpoint of whether the Manager will take him out of the limelight today given he's such a young player. In fairness did it in such a way as to try and play down the whole sequence of events as merely allegations at the moment. No issues here for me other than it may have been better had they just said nothing.

The club (LFC) know the mistake last time was Suarez admitting he said it, they now know just don't admit it and unless its caught on
camera there is nothing they can do. the FA cannot charge our player with lying (which I don't believe he has) because how would that
look for other players coming forward in the future?

the FA are taking far to long with this its now 7 days, maybe its a panel of 3 and two agree on it and 1 doesn't, either way this now need sorting one way or the other as its dragging on for the fans and players. its all the kopites are going on about on twitter still

The Suarez thing went on for absolutely ages. I wouldn't expect to hear anything imminently

was just thinking about that incident in comparison to this one, was it heavily talked about in the straight aftermath of the game and continually? I remember it being heavily discussed, but as you mention, it did go on for a while, so possibly that's why i think that.

The whole situation was dealt with by making Holgate sound like some basket case who needed guidance.

Un-'kin-believable.

Firmino has got off scot-free here.

Then some wonder why I and others felt that Allardyce and the club should have got behind Holgate more on this, they surely knew he'd be circled by Kopite lackeys in the media?

For me Dave ATM Allardyce was correct in keeping quiet. I do not see why we have to stoop to he level of the Kopites lackeys just shows how desperate they are.

Do hope Allardyce does not chicken out, Holgate needs to play today.

Does it feel like an environment has been created whereby our player gets a reasonable hearing for the filth he had to put up with from Firmino?

Have we now got exact clarification of what Firmino said then ?
I believe in our players. It's just a pity the manager showed no similar type of belief or maybe he would have spoken up for him.

The result: Holgate has been castigated and presented as the villain of the piece.

Leave Liverpool a space to exploit on matters like this and they'll fill the vacuum with their cultism.

Question of timing, when it happened Allardyce was right to keep quiet, don't recall Klopp mouthing off agin Holgate then. Right now it is with the FA and I am sure the relevant folk in Everton will make the right noises to the FA. What would you want Allardyce to say?

To me there are two stages to this. What did Firmino say to Holgate for him to get pushed into the barrier, do you know? The second stage was after when Firmino confronted Holgate with the ref in the middle. It is very unclear from the vid what was said to Holgate but from lip reading later on the vid Holgate saying clearly the "N" word was used. This will come out in testimony to the FA, and we will see. If the hearing is unbalanced then I am sure the club will appeal.

A simple No would have sufficed Dave.
