I bet they're not...
50's in the process of being phased out/updated anyhow. That's what we'll all be carrying for a pint of milk or a loaf in about 12 months...As the first monarch to feature on Bank of England banknotes, the Queen’s iconic portraits are synonymous with some of the most important work we do. Current banknotes featuring the image of Her Majesty The Queen will continue to be legal tender. A further announcement regarding existing Bank of England banknotes will be made once the period of mourning has been observed.![]()

There will be no sport this weekend and they don't want to be operating at a loss, so save money by keeping shops closed, but dress it up as a mark of respect.
Does this mean we get a scouting video of Charles set to some obnoxious dance track?Has anyone posted a YouTube clip of her best bits to some banging dance tune yet?
They're collectors items now so save them for antiques roadshow in 50 years!so what happens with money?
I have about £60 in notes and £20 odd in coins (yeah the great gatsby)
is it still fine?
That's fair enough it just seems people seem to hate on The Queen, the person, for what the Monarchy represents and its dark past, which is just wrong, the Queen as a person was far from evil or crap and doesn't really deserve the hate that the monarchy itself might deserveI'm an American. I don't have a dog in this hunt. If you want my opinion, I think she did a pretty good job of helping establish a post-Empire identity for the state, but that she also did some fairly tone-deaf things along the way. Not as many as Philip, mind, but still the sort of tone-deaf things that people of privilege do. It's a mixed-bag record where she definitely gets plaudits for comporting herself with dignity in public. Compare to later generations' conduct in the public eye, and she looks pretty darned good.
If I'm from someplace with a different history, there's a good chance I feel differently. Saying 'Cromwell' in an Irish bar without 'James' immediately in front of the word is a good way to start a fight. There's not a lot of love lost there.
hopefully, him sliding around his greenhouse with the vengaboys pumping....Does this mean we get a scouting video of Charles set to some obnoxious dance track?
