It isn't empty though if this is the start of actually trying to rebuild the completely destroyed relationship between African-Americans and the police.
They want justice. The fact this has got to this level isnt because of one man's death , never has been. It's every time this happens , when police everywhere display horrible levels of racism in their treatment of their people.

Go back to any time after the 60s and you will see it happen again and again.

This is just enough is enough.

One persons terrorist is anothers freedom fighter.

No matter what your political beliefs are violence is and should never be the answer. if you have to resort to that to get your opinions across then ultimately there is little difference.

violence is never the answer? What never ? I’m assuming you’re a pacifist and advocate both nuclear disarmament and complete dismantling of our military?

I’m not really talking specifically about this whole debate but of course violence is sometimes the answer . Whether you’re catching a burglar in your house, protecting your loved ones or defending your country . Maybe it’s the The allies fighting nazi Germany , the french resistance or let’s say military intervention in Kosovo . The reality is force and violence are often justified the question is only ever who justifies it and how they do so .

I didn’t look up the numbers, but I’m happy to take your word on that figure. However, according to the 2010 census, there are nearly 6x as many white people in the US as there are black. The black community is being VERY disproportionately impacted by this problem.
Of course, that's what I was attempting to say. Even tho more white men are killed by police a disproportionate amount of black men are killed by the same institution.

Guys, I recommend people to check out the murders of Daniel Shaver and Tony Timpa. It's worth it for the perspective.

Not gonna post it here (for obvious reasons) Anonymous now hacked the police database what holds the force emails and passwords to a load of Minneapolis police officers and released them online.

Not a fan of this personally... don't think they are finished yet either.

I couldn't really speak about what happens in America mate as I dont really watch the news certainly not internationally but from what I've seen in recent years in the UK is the increase in political movements using violence and/or anti social methods such as throwing milkshakes etc on people instead of getting their views across in a more peaceful manner.

As someone who's come from a martial arts background (arl fella made me do karate at primary school and since 15 have done BJJ on and off over the years) I've pretty much had "fighting as a last resort" drilled into me. I just see alot of folk nowadays (certainly of my age and below) who dont seem to be able to articulate their arguments/viewpoints without the need for physical or verbal attacking of folk - no training, no honour.

I think it happens on both sides of politics but I certainly think its the reason why the left has struggled in the UK in recent years- instead of letting the far right idiots open their mouths and destroy their views with facts they have shouted them down and let them portray themselves as the victims fighting for "freedom of speech".

Im neither left nor right im pretty much centre of politics.

But future justice is going to require a change on the police's side, no? So at some point this sort of thing has to happen, I think. Maybe you could say it's a bad time but personally I think this is the best opportunity we've had.

Happy to talk in another thread about the multiple ways we could address the distressingly high death rate among African American men.

However here it is a) being used as a distraction b) I don’t see how you can effectively address any other crime or social issues unless your have fair arbitration which is clearly not the case in the US. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

The problem is that this happens, people burn everything down, politicians say something, it eventually settles down having taken even more lives, then after a while it just happens again. It’s like nothing has been learnt or moved forward. That may be wrong of course because I’m looking from the outside, but that’s how it feels. I just hope that when this latest episode settles down that things actually change for the better.....for everyone.....

That's not entirely because blacks are targeted more. It's more to do with the fact that blacks are more likely to be in confrontation with the cops, unfortunately. All this is attributed to socio-economic factors of blacks being brought up in ghetto-like neighbourhoods with substandard education and it's an ongoing cycle. It's unfortunate but the American government have to address those socio-economic factors involving blacks, before anything else.

And I respect that completely and I empathise with it mate I empathise completely. However last resort though doesn’t mean it’s never justified it just means it’s not first resort .

Maybe so but go watch that video of a white man carrying an AR-15 down the road where it is legal to open carry like all those y'all Qaeda idiots were doing weeks ago and the exact same area of where the black man doing the same thing. The white man nice and calmy told "you shouldn't do that", the black man I'm genuinely surprised wasn't shot.
