For every action you must expect a reaction.

I watched the vid, the Police officer said she bit him, is he telling the truth? I dont know, but im certainly not going to judge somebody on the back of a poorly shot video.

You appear to have made your mind up regarding the American Police, ive never dealt with them, so no, I suppose I have no idea what they are like, but im not going to condemn the whole Police force cos of the actions of a few bad apples. I mean thats the same as racism.
For every video of the police doing something heinous since Floyd’s murder, there are 100’s being taken out of context just to escalate the unrest even further. People throwing things and antagonizing officers does nothing to help the situation.

And whilst there are a good many of the protestors behaving properly, there are many as well that are endangering others, looting and destroying small businesses and stores. Police have to be able to keep some order.

There it is.

"One bad apple spoils the bunch"

Regardless of whether the other officers are the ones committing the issues we have seen here they are, by and large, not reporting it either. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. Your police there do not, for the most part, have the ability to end your life that day because of their mood. The "excuse" for almost every single shooting is that the officer felt threatened. You want to see how absolutely [Poor language removed] up it is here? Go watch the video of the murder of Daniel Leetin Shaver. That officer wasn't even charged with anything and he straight up murdered him. That's WITH a body camera showing exactly what happened.

My father's wife is a cop. I've had this conversation with her and she doesn't disagree that everything is seriously messed up but she, thankfully, works and lives in an area where "crmie" is at most B&E's.

There are some horrible humans on this Earth, some of them wear a Police uniform and carry a gun.

That doesnt mean all police are scum.

Pac says it better than I can.

Mate with all due respect you have no idea what you are talking about regarding American police. In what world is ramming your SUV in to a crowd of people acceptable? That's literally attempted murder if they weren't police regardless of the circumstances.

The idea that police can do no wrong like in your eyes is how we've gotten to this situation in the first place.

And you are certifiable if you think that officer could not have subdued that woman without punching her repeatedly in the head.
Answering purely factually, it would ultimately depend on a number of factors but it can be deemed legal, for police or public.

Like if their lives depended on it. That's the excuse police allllways give. "i felt threatened". With that video there was absolutely no reason for that to occur.

If you are inside a car, surrounded by hundreds of people, throwing bottles and all other manner of things at your windows, what would you do?

Now, imagine you are not sitting at home with time to think, imagine you are there and you have seconds to think.

Would you make the correct decision?

If I took an oath to protect and serve then I damn well better.

Well yes that is one primary reason or if there was serious risk of harm or loss of life to others. It may be slightly different here in the UK, but there are other reasons.

In fact, it was a widely used and accepted tactic in NI and in legal basis holds similar weight to a charge by horses, but obviously there’s a lot more to it than that.

After 3 or 4 days of dealing with rioters, I think its only human that tempers would flare.
To the extent of trying to run over people or punch people in the head when already down and subdued?!

That is the exact behaviour that got us to this sorry position in the first place.

Someone somewhere has to show some restraint and not escalate things or vent their temper.

Police are meant to be held at a higher standard than the normal citizens BECAUSE they are the ones meant to be upholding the law.

The fact that this even is a question means they are not trained correctly in the slightest.

Maybe when we invent a Robot Police force.

Anyway, I posted that police vid running over people earlier, it was quite shocking.

I think we have an unrealistic idea of the Police and forget that they are only human with the same flaws we all have.
