Game Of Thrones: Season 8

Yeah I suppose the first bit was well done to be fair, but once "the thing" happened, it just died on its arse, BIG TIME.

Yeh agree entirely.

At least it was well done in that part. I like how they basically made her innocent (in a way) in terms of her going back to her childhood. I knew what was coming, knew she deserved it, but at that point, I was gutted. Because all she wanted really was that bit of love and attention and that bloody chair.

I feel it could have been a whole lot more interesting - the evil Dany thing - if Jon had never told the others. If the secret had stayed. And it'd have been more about her paranoia of others finding out.

I feel old GOT - or GGRM's GOT - would do something along those lines. It'd have reasserted the pointlessness of it all in the end (which is what the WW threat was meant to do).

Said before I just felt nothing. Wish I was a wee bit angry.

Just an utter nothing finale. Nothing season.

Martinez's final two seasons. Allardyce taking over. A Distin back pass to Suarez.

Im over it now, gonna murder my people in Rimworld to mask my pain.

it's like the writers totally forgot that arya was the many face god, they could have at least done something great with that at least once in the final series.

I was convinced (before I saw episode 6) that Jon would kill Dany and then take the face off to reveal it was Arya. That would have allowed Jon to have that scene to make it more emotional than if Arya had just done it herself (now I know better that Dany/Jon couldn't even muster anything to make me care about it), with the added twist because in reality Jon probably didn't have the balls to do it and it would also free him up to become king.

Shocking that you build up something over years then neglect to use what could be their greatest tools.

Liked it all myself, fantasy series with dragons and snowmen really, enjoyed it for what it was.

It’s set up to be brought back to be honest.

I bet the next books are done and will be out shortly as well. Can imagine they will be different endings etc.

Books were always superior really, though the TV show was bit of Craic.

My thoughts on it:

Lack of action was okay for me. The final ep couldn't have been a big fight because it would have left no time to show the aftermath/resolutions of it.

Dany was a shadow of her former character. I know she was supposed to be mad and all now but there was absolutely nothing left from the girl who we saw develop all these years. The way she died was a bit anti-climatic. I liked Drogon's reaction though, knowing that Jon has Targaryen blood and wouldn't kill him, but intelligent enough to destroy the throne his mother died in pursuit of. Heck, the damn dragon has been the best, most consistent character in the whole 'kin season.

Though it didn't really matter, did it? Because they got a new king anyway just without a fancy chair. Also I thought the part where Sam suggested democracy and everyone laughed was inserted merely to poke fun at viewers who theorised that could happen.

Jon - its like they didn't know how to build his character any further, so just sent him back to Castle Black where he belongs. We saw him go from nobody to a fighter, from a fighter to a captain, from a captain to a saviour, from a saviour to a king and then he just 'didnt want it' any more. He should have been an icon of the people, where he took the throne not from his bloodline but from his nature to save people and unite them. The only important thing he'd done in the last two seasons was to bone his Aunt. A huge disappointment after his amazing revival.

The rest of it was mostly just okay. Bran being king was weird, didn't fit his persona at all.

Oh and they stole this scene from LotR, just with a lot more boats.

The scene where they dragged tyrion out was just like the crew / actors had had a laugh and thrown something together which they thought would be really really funny and clever...

It was totally flat...i get the feeling some of the actors werent bothered in the end either, making $1mil an episode there seemed a lot of laziness.

I enjoyed it actually. best episode of the season for sure

Several scenes I really liked. Tyrion's straight talking to Jon in his cell was well done. The burning of the throne was brilliant, and I found it very symbolic.

Even the scene of Sam suggesting a people's vote and democracy getting laughed at was a nice way of making the point of how people felt not too long ago in our own history.

Sure, I'd never have had Bran as king, but it did have a kind of sense to it. And the King's Council squabbling about brothels versus sanitation was good. Gave you the feeling that it was in the hands of people who would do a decent job for once. And Tryion staying as Hand despite not really wanting it was good.

I was fine with a separate Queen Of The North - that was harking back to what they wanted back in Ned's day, and it's not that far fetched really, only like an independent Scotland...

And Ghost - excellent! My missus LOVED that. Though she did cry 'oh no, what's happened to his ear??'

Okay, so it might have been a bit 'feelgood' - but sometimes I don't mind feeling good. Made a bit of a palate cleanser after eight seasons of death and torture

And who couldn't love 'Ahem! My long experience has left me somewhat skilled in Statesmanship, and I...' 'Sit down!' lol

Imagine if Tyrion as the hand is wheeling Brann around? Be like Little Britain.

He’ll be the most easily dethroned king you could think of. Just push him off the dock.

Also how did that room survive where they had the meeting????
