Why sign a 5 year contract then? That's if he actually said it.
Understand his comment but .....why now? All the talk from within camp has been about their belief they can make champions league this season. why not say it come February if we are heading for another average, just of Europe positions? It Will be a blow to a highly motivated team. pissed off with him if true. Keep your thoughts to yourself until an appropriate time. i.e transfer window.
maybe some big clubs made inquiries for him and moyes just said no straight away and he has now got wind of it
No, but there are lies, damn lies and then statistics.
And tracking your runner is a pretty damn important part of defensive football. Would you not agree?
Why isn't there a column for that very important part of defensive football?
will be gutted, especially if that rumoured buy out clause is around mid twenties. why would we agree to that, seriously? he's more than twice the player he was when we signed him. i know they are much better negotiators than us and are in a better financial state, but spurs got 30 million for modric who is 1) nowhere near the player fellaini is IMO and 2) hasn't wanted to be there for a good 2 years now. like everyone else i'd hate to see him move to another prem club, you just know he'd dominate the **** out of us every game. i've come to the realisation that he won't be with us forever, unless we get mad investement (like that will ever happen) so just hoping we will get a good price around £35-£40 which can be invested well in our squad
Last season Everton conceded 31 goals in the 18 games Fellaini missed and a more miserly 24 in the 20 he played. This year he has tightened the defensive core further, shipping just 21 goals in the 21 games he has appeared in.
never get 35-40 for him
city brought yaya toure for 24m
Yaya Toure was 27 and had two years left on his contract.
Fellaini is 24 and has four and a half seasons left on his contract.
Hardly the same situation, and Yaya had been told by Barca he was surplus to requirements, which is not the opinion David Moyes will hold about Fellaini.
24 million release clause to a champions league club is something I got told last year when he signed his new contract.
I took that info with a big pinch of salt, could be true, but maybe not.
Maybe John Lundstram will step up to replace him.

but most of that would be in addons, you would be looking at 12-15m up front and the rest in addons.
fellainis a decent player but I dont think the top clubs would go out of their way to sign him like they have for van persie or modric, I think it will be a case of they will make a bid if moyes says no they will move on to other targets, I cant see a bidding war starting on him
With the shortage in midfield I can see fellaini pushed back there when we need him to cover as DM, and defensive midfileders arent too expensive
