ronaldo did the same thing at united 1 season before he left, he signed a massive contract so madrid would have to pay an outrageous amount for him. ferguson basically said play for 1 more season and if your still not happy then leave, I expect moyes said something similar when fellaini signed his.

We have had some times from him but this process of developing talent and selling on at a profit will carry on until we can generate money by other means or takeover.

Seeing as he told United no, i somehow doubt that. He's 27, will be 28 by the end of the season. If he wanted to make a move that would have been the one.
