Here is my team:

Oh it's the same as Kenannnnada's first one.

Still decent I reckon, Osman and Fellaini centre mid isn't that bad. Just have to tell Marouane that he needs to kill everyone that gets anywhere near our area.

LOL. "Felli, lid? See this area? Anyone not in a blue shirt? Destroy, okay?"

Rodwell, James Wallace, Jose Baxter Kieran Agard, Shane Duffy, Shkodran Mustafi. Looks like we've taken half the youth squad with us too.

He's getting massive by the way. Few months of atlas stone training and he'll be about where we want him in terms of size i.e. the biggest player in the world.

But Jo upfront on his own in an away game is just going to be horrific, it will basically be "Here you go BATE, have the ball, and dont worry, next time we lose it we will boot it upfield in the general area of Jo so your defence can pick it up and start an attack again".

Whereas if we actually play football, which that midfield is more than capable of doing the team should be more than capable of a decent performance.

Possible line-up:-

------------------------- Howard ---------------------------

------- Hibbert ---- Yobo ---- Distin ---- Baines ---------

------ Gosling --- Osman --- Rodwell --- Billy ---------

-------------------------- Cahill ---------------------------

--------------------------- Jo ------------------------------

Unless Moyes fancy giving Rodwell a rest and let Fellaini start, otherwise I think this is going to be line-up we would be seeing tomorrow!

I'm talking about this season, he's turned up more than Osman, Cahill and Fellaini and has been better in most games. He isn't as proven as those players but we are talking about the present day, not last season.

The only one who can do an awful lot more than Rodwell out of your list is Phil Neville. He protects the back four better than any of our players and if he was fit, he'd be in my first choice starting eleven.

Fellaini and Cahill don't, the only thing Cahill offers is his running and workrate. Fellaini is basically a poor mans version of Rodwell, albeit a little more attacking. Rodwell betters him in most areas, in terms of protecting the back four and getting on the ball and looking to start attacks.

You just have to look at the Wigan, Sigma, Blackburn and AEK Athens games, Rodwell controlled every game mentioned and was the standout midfielder alongside Pienaar. Until that changes he deserves to be in the team.

I am aware that he's not the finished article but I struggle to see where the better option is in the position he plays. There isn't one.

The best future indicator mate is past performence, point being Rodwell hasnt proved he can be consistent in a whole game yet never mind a season. He is a phenmonal talent and we all love him now and the player he is going to be - but i cant help but feel their is a touch of the Fernandes's about him at this stage of his development and as such isnt and shouldnt be an automatic starter. Your right he can dictate the pace of the game, put his foot on the ball and has amazing technical ability - thats not even the half of it for anyone who has looked at him over the years up against his peers he is prob playing at 30% of his potential in the PL IMO - thats only right and we shouldnt have higher expectations of that.

Regardless of his undoubhted ability, their are still flaws to his senior game, he can be prone to giving away pocession sloppily, his positioning when in pocession and not could improve drasticly, his confidence is showing for the ball although improved this season still needs work and most importantly he needs to develop consistencey - i have no doubht he will and its not fair on the lad to expect as much as we do presently. I have no dobht Moyes sees this to which is why im fairly sure he will be out of the team soon enough. Expierence is one thing and the treams you have mentioned arent exactly top drawer, but what is vital for me in a young players development is reflecting on and analyseing that expierence away from the game and learname from it to bring their game on - that will happen and he wont be a gauerenteed first team player for a while - im failry sure.

He has ability but hes not at the level of our other midfeilders in terms of impact on a game in 90 mins or consistencey yet - as much as i would love him to be the player he will be hes not yet and we should all respect the fact he will have highs and lows and needs time out of the team at 18.

Rodwell hasn't travelled to Belarus with the squad.

Will be a tough game but i think we have enough about us to go on and win.

2-0 Saha x2
Really looking forward to tomorrow.

No, you should be judged on how you are performing. Not what you did last season or what you did two seasons ago. It's all about here and now and Jack Rodwell, alongside Pienaar, has been our most consistent midfielder.

Ofcourse he has flaws in his game, I've already said I agree with that. But you have to look at who he's competing with for a place in the side. It's not Mikel Arteta or Phil Neville, it's Tim Cahill, Marouane Fellaini and possibly Johnny Heitinga.

None of the players mentioned are proven central midfielders, none of the players mentioned look for the ball more than Rodwell and none of the players mentioned are any better at protecting our back four than Rodwell.

In an ideal world Moyes would have his first choice centre midfield (Arteta and Neville) and Rodwell would be used sparingly, but that isn't the case, we don't have quality, consistent midfielders who can let Jack step back and develop.
