Homepage Article Fan Advisory Board Statement On Price Rises

The whole thing is very unsavoury.

A proper kick in the balls for fans who have shown unwavering loyalty when the club has lurched from one crisis to another.

They better come out and explain that for fans. They must be tin-eared if they think they can announce that bombshell and get away with telling people effectively to move on.

If that's their attitude I can predict with 100% certainty this wont end well for them and in a very short period of time too.

Super exploiters who never set foot in the club is not a great look.

I'm not sure they'll even come out and say anything, it's a new ownership model who will want to make money - we knew that when they bought us. The previous owners nearly put us into administration so if they did say anything, it would probably be that we haven't been run properly in the past an their new financial strategy will prevent that from ever being the case again.

Nothing is stopping The Friedkins Group from dropping Season Tickets to £650 while obtaining the biggest sponsorship deals in the club history to counterbalance income.

Castore - £20m until 2029
Stake - £10m until 2026
Christopher Ward - £2m until 2028
Hill Dickinson - £10m until 2035

Also should we maintain our current position in the league, 8th, we would bring in around £150m which is a increase of £15m from our 14th position last year.

This doesn't include the amount of additional deals with Budweiser, Pepsi Max, Heinz etc

The club employs a commercial team who should be held to account to meet the biggest deals this club has ever seen.

Fans should not be used to top up greed

It would be staggering if they announced 7%-10% ticket price increases in a climate like this and then said f.a. about it.

That simply cant be tolerated.

Absolutely nailed it.

You'd think there has to be an implosion of some sorts soon, the increase in costs to follow a Premier League team can't keep growing as it has can it? (Mick McCarthy voice 'it can!').

The cost of the 4 (ridiculous!) kits per season, the ST prices, the costs of subscriptions to watch it on telly, the costs when you're in the stadium. At some point people willl vote with their feet, the issue now is that others are happy to pay it meaning the club won't feel any difference as someone decides to not renew as someone else jumps straight in.

Then why aren't these super-keen fans "jumping in" for all the resale seats for every game? Also, many fans on the waiting lists put their names down when the season tickets were much cheaper than they are now, how many are truly committed at the current prices? They were also prompted over a number of years by the very limited availability at GP squeezing that demand, and by the promise of BMD pushing it even further. The reality now seems to be that most on those waiting lists have no problems in getting tickets now, and if polls on here are to be believed, anything up to 20% of season ticket holders are considering not renewing after just one season. So, I think the "financial balance" for our fanbase is fairly fragile, and if they push that too far they could soon see far more empty seats.

Also, when fans get on the FB memberships they can opt-in to a season ticket waiting list with an attitude of 'may as well' but without any real gusto about it.

I think the threat being used against current ST holders of losing out to others is scandalous. Basically it's a nasty 'nudge' policy meted out to the most loyal of fans we happen to have.

I dont like what I see with this lot so far. Not one bit of it.

For 5 yesrs i've listened to my man u mate rant on about his team.
A genuine and proper bloke like us who loves/loved his footie.
He has for years said the club want him out.
I was amazed at his stories of how a season ticket holder of 40 years was treated.
His latest rant was this 3 strikes and your out rule for missing games.
He feels his season ticket is not his.
If he can't go to a game he HAS to sell it back to utd at a loss....who then throw a meal in and sell his ticket for 400 quid.
Yep he still goes to the game whilst he can afford to.....donned in his green and yellow scarf.
His saying is he supports the team not the club.
Now Everton taking on this business model is nuts....globally we are unheard of.
We had a little place in Malaga for 20 years.
Nobody supported Malaga. To a man it was Real Madrid.
Utd are still on their level as a crowd puller and can get away with this no matter their lesgue position.
Only shirts you see in shops over there are Madrid, man u, RS and a smattering of Arsenal.
No blue anywhere.
Jeez locals didn't even know we were the derby team of Liverpool.
Everton despite the new stadium are lightyears away from fleecing/getting rid of true supporters and replacing them with free spending "tourists".
Lightyears. It will never work.

What was interesting is @davek pointing out that right across the board we have higher season ticket prices than the RS.

And like 5X less commercial revenue, if not more. When you have owners with more money than ticket sales bring in, focus shifts. Ticket sales are nothing more than supplemental income now...gone are the BK days. I could've bought a Patrick's Day kit but didn't due to flagrant price abuse. Pick your poison. In 30+ years I've seen a lot of ticket price *itching but not a drop in attendance so it's obvious there's an addiction problem. That's fine but if your budget's tight, do like in any other situation, cut out frivolous purchases...kits, food, drink etc.

Ya'll get laughed at, you know that...but he who laughs last etc.

Do you think they invest all your ticket money ? wake up & smell the coffee - they are in it to make money - end of ...

I think it’s naive to think an American will invest in a foreign club and not squeeze the pips out of it. That was my argument.

As fans we are capitalists when the club is spending money, but socialist when we are spending our money.

fundamentally believe the price for success is a club that abuses fans more and more.

This is true. We all predicted it last summer. The issue, however, is are we getting "free spending foreign owners chasing success" or are they really just profit maximisers nurturing their asset in the comfy confines of mid-table?

If these fellas hire a world-class manager and provide him with numerous top class players, then yes, ambition has a price and the fans will be asked to pay it.

But I'm not sure another summer of Tyler Dibling/Thierno Barry/Merlin Röhl signings is going to cut these price rises...

I just think the whole interest in buying a club is that the fans are there every season spending money on a product for the rest of their lives
