Everton's Managerial Options

With all that`s been going on with them this season, I think West Ham are even more messed up than us.

Which really takes some doing.

The problem for us is that we've allowed the chasing pack to catch up to us, West Ham in a 60k ground and someone like Pellegrini as manager, Newcastle with Benitez should they get a takeover and have money and Wolves how ambitious their owners end up being you could argue will all be around us whilst we bungle about with the stadium and off and on the field matters.

Thats why we need to go all out for a name manager - make it known we mean business, pay over the odds - £10-12 million a year salary just get someone in who can take us further on the pitch. Then start a clear out at board room level and progress with the BMD move.

West Ham get Pellegrini

Pellegrini didn`t seem to handle things well, when things went West for him at City.
Benitez is just waiting for an excuse to jump ship.
Wolves are an unknown quantity, but you have to be suspicious of the true motives of their owners, pumping all that money into a relatively small club, with a local fan base.

lollollol

To be fair the boys got amongst it and made a decent stab.

Lets have yours!!!!!

Or hopefully your on team Paulo.

Wish I knew mate, really do. I seem to know who I don't want but can't say I'm so brave as to who I do. It ain't just the manager for me, although a good one would help! We've blown that much dough on a wing and a prayer changing managers like they are the only ones who can change our fortunes it's become embarrasing. The calamity on the pitch reflects the circus going on off it.

I'm just a fan who reckcons we deserve better. Throw loads of names at me I couldn't say I could back any of them until I hear what they want to do, how they plan to go about it and how the suits upstairs will support it. We are going nowhere spunking millions on bang average millionaire mercenaries who don't care if it's a tower, a seagull, or a flying monkey on their left chest. It means nothing to them but the world to many of us.

I want players whoever who want to play for us, know what it is to wear our shirt, a mix young lads in the squad who are living the dream and show no fear, other players who are good on the ball who show up when it's getting tough with a gaffer who tells us as it is and what he's trying to do. Not sure who that gaffer is but what we've become is as far removed from the Everton I've known since supporting them. It may be Fonseca but it certainly ain't the majority on that list.

I think part of the problem is that people struggle with reality a little.

Silva might be the "best" manager we can attract.

My first choice is Paulo, I consider him on the cusp of what we can attract, but reality suggests that he probably has better offers than us or he feels that he could attract a better offer in the future.

The same goes for all the other managers I would pick ahead of Silva, The Emerys, hell even The Wengers.

We arent a big club sadly, we have a rich history and a very loyal fanbase, but so does Sheff Wednesday.

Sure we can offer the dough, but again, so can every other decent club in Europe, so if reality dictates that we appoint Silva, so be it.

This forum has over 000s of people on it, the club will not appoint a manager we all agree on.

I just hope that we as a fanbase get behind our next appointment and also add a touch of reality about what our goals should be next season, compete in every game, finish as high as we can and hopefully have a decent go at the cups.
As a fan base we were very patient with Martinez given the style of play and his warm regard towards the club. Realistically we are comfortably the seventh best club in England there should be no ifs or buts 7th min. If Silva can bring a more expansive play style and get the lads to work for the cause he will be looked on fairly and given a good platform to succeed.

Isn’t West Hams move to the Olympic stadium hated by everyone and like the worst place ever to watch a match?

Its a poor footba stadium but it still gives them an edge revenues wise until we get in our new ground. We simply havent the fiancial edge over clubs below us anymore (unless Mosh bankrolls us Chelsea style) which is why having a quality manager and fantastic recruitment set up is essential in keeping us at the minimum best of the rest.
