I've been following Everton since 2006 and in those 20 years I have seen the club evolve & devolve in a looping cycle. Everything from being the best of the rest, almost winning the FA Cup, flirting with 4th place finishes (sort of..), crushing Europa league defeats, amazing Europe league moments, WTF head coach appointments & player signings, near relegation scares etc...
How would you currently describe the state of Everton to someone who is a new fan in 2026?
I would describe Everton as an average mid table team who is constantly inconsistent for the last 10+ seasons. The masters of losing against bad form teams, but also capable of positive results vs the top 6 of the table. A club of survival that still punches above its weight, but always manages to underachieve every season. At least, we got a new Stadium and the Moyesiah is back
