Evertonism 2026

They aren't really City,RS, Chelsea, Arsenal though are they and being totally honest the win at United was more than a bit down to luck and Pickford. Will we win the next home game v United? Odds aren't good. And even Spurs who were seen as a top six team hammered us at Bramley Moor even though they are rubbish now.

So the Villa and United wins don’t count because of arbitrary metrics that you’ve made up, but the Spurs defeat is an utterly damning indictment (we had a perfectly good equalising goal ruled out in that game that hasn’t been acknowledged here). Internet agendas are great aren’t they.

I've been following Everton since 2006 and in those 20 years I have seen the club evolve & devolve in a looping cycle. Everything from being the best of the rest, almost winning the FA Cup, flirting with 4th place finishes (sort of..), crushing Europa league defeats, amazing Europe league moments, WTF head coach appointments & player signings, near relegation scares etc...

How would you currently describe the state of Everton to someone who is a new fan in 2026?

It's hardly a metric if they aren't perceived as top sides. There's a reason United sacked their manager and why not that long ago Villa were in the Championship. As for the Spurs defeat, ifs, buts, and maybes don't win points. The fact is in that game every time the had a dead ball situation it looked like they'd score.

You’re literally using ifs buts and maybes to write off the Villa and United games?! Both of those teams occupy Champions League spots right now, yet you appear to be arguing that neither are actually top sides while 16th placed Spurs are?!

Where did I say Spurs are a top side? I am saying United and Villa aren't at the level that Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Chelsea have been.I think you are mistaking me for a Moyes hater. I'm just a realist.

United are above both Liverpool and Chelsea and beat both of them under Amorim. In fact this season they’ve beaten all 4 of those teams you’ve listed.

Will they finish there? I somehow doubt it,but back to Everton. Oh and that post of mine saying Spurs are a top side.😉
