Evertonism 2026

Will they finish there? I somehow doubt it,but back to Everton. Oh and that post of mine saying Spurs are a top side.😉

Where do you think Man Utd and Villa will finish? I think they’ll both finish above Chelsea for instance, who are crap.

Can you please outline what your criteria is for beating a top team, does it have to be away to Arsenal or City while they also play really well and yet at the same time we have to somehow not be lucky and our keeper mustn’t make any saves?

I've been following Everton since 2006 and in those 20 years I have seen the club evolve & devolve in a looping cycle. Everything from being the best of the rest, almost winning the FA Cup, flirting with 4th place finishes (sort of..), crushing Europa league defeats, amazing Europe league moments, WTF head coach appointments & player signings, near relegation scares etc...

How would you currently describe the state of Everton to someone who is a new fan in 2026?

I would describe Everton as an average mid table team who is constantly inconsistent for the last 10+ seasons. The masters of losing against bad form teams, but also capable of positive results vs the top 6 of the table. A club of survival that still punches above its weight, but always manages to underachieve every season. At least, we got a new Stadium and the Moyesiah is back :celebrate:

Evertonism 2026:

A mighty club of yore, that regularly breaks into a sweat ( but not quite a jog ) in our marathon return to the top 4, 6, 8 half :)

Best watched and enjoyed through oft rose-chip-grease-and-alcohol tinted spectacles of Grand old Team.com

Best club in the world.

Villa away was good 3 midfielders....

Arsenal and City away wins? Never going to happen without huge investment by TFG and I doubt that'll happen any time soon. As for Chelsea,I can see them fourth probably above Villa. Man U? I'll leave them until Tuesday. To finish in a CL position and show continued improvement they need to put at least three to four past us,like Newcastle and Brentford did.

I think with the games coming up - we will end up about 12th ?

And to be fair Joey at the beginning of the season Is have been happy with that. Just feel sorry for the lads taking their kids to Bramley Moor paying small fortunes to see some of the rubbish we've served up at home.

They aren't really City,RS, Chelsea, Arsenal though are they and being totally honest the win at United was more than a bit down to luck and Pickford. Will we win the next home game v United? Odds aren't good. And even Spurs who were seen as a top six team hammered us at Bramley Moor even though they are rubbish now.
The post said vs the top 6 of the table. Villa and United are in the top 4 and will likely finish in the top 6 this season.

I think when people refer to the top six it's not the table as it stands today. If Brentford win their next game would you start referring to them as a top six side? Would you still think United will finish in the CL positions if we beat them?

If Brentford were in the top 6 then they're a top 6 side, yes and yes, in regards to United finishing in the CL positions.

The mid-table pack is getting better and we are seeing that there is rotation in that CL/EL pack now. I don't think a traditional top 6 exists anymore.

City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, United and Spurs as far as fan bases go. Brentford could get CL or finish 10th.
Squad depth has the biggest part to play in the run in. The traditional top clubs usually have the depth that makes the difference. Don't see us having that type of squad any time soon and that's probably why TFG will stick with Moyes.
