With the piss poor deadline day it probably means Holgate will get more chances in the centre of defence and in turn kenny should get more games too with the amount we have coming up before xmas

I know what you mean but we only have 3 centre backs apart from Holgate so he's bound to get games there. Only 1 left back so Martina will have to play there occasionally too so should be decent opportunities for Kenny.

Pretty sure come the end of season we will look back and think how we could have avoided getting knocked out of the FA Cup or League Cup had we got a decent striker or if we had cover at the back.

Can't play 3 at the back now having just 3 CBs and 1 LB in Baines. They cannot play 2 games in a week and hence that would mean Gana and Schnides tucked back to shield them, meaning no movement for attack up front.

I wrote something similar re only 1 LB and Martina , then had the thought that Luke Garbutt is still around USM FF somewhere. Seems to have disappeared of late, he played in a few of the U23s pre season games but hasn't featured in the PL2 squad. His career seemed to go downhill once he'd signed that contract extension a few years ago. I try not to be harsh on these young players but the bits I saw of him when he had his loan spell at Fulham he was pretty poor. He just didn't look interested, out of position, slow getting back just ambling about. Hard to see him in RKs plans for LB but I think he's around somewhere.

I'm not a massive fan, but it's odd how Garbutt has dropped completely out of anyone's mind re left back - I know he's had some rough loans but he also has coming up for 100 senior games at various levels...

He played in the West Ham game but came off for Donkor.

I wonder who'll get the nod at LB for the 23's now that Connolly has gone. Between him and Gibson I would suspect? Seems Foulds is finally being allowed to develop solely at centre half.

Odd that both he and Henen are being kept around. I can only imagine dire emergency cover.

This is really interesting as he's joining our stable of England youth players but has 5 first team games already for Fulham.

I think he must be thinking he'll be fast tracked into our first team squad.
