lol not really had much to praise has he?
Slated Barkley then praised him + praised gana obviously...barry too as hes a key cog...and lukaku before he pimped him out...
Klopps Liverpool were boring last season and at times looked no different to Rodgers Liverpool. A season on with his own signings and time with the squad/time to get them playing his high pressing game they look very good.
We need to give Koeman time and Moshiri needs to dig into his pockets. This season has always been a transition but sadly we only improved 2 areas of the first team this season (Gueye & Bolasie) with Williams a stop gap signing due to age. Next summer we ideally need about 4-5 players coming in with another 2-3 coming in this January.
i think what @davek and to a lesser extent @Ernie are saying is that at the beginning of the season we were moving towards a certain system/style and getting results...
Now we should be getting better as were used to pressing and the system but instead we look hopeless and almost lost at home to a side making 8 changes to their team.
Additionally we have got some tough games next and we will struggle to get points.
How is this? is it due to koeman being a poor manager / motivator?
Koeman rejected him getting regular games for a promotion chasing team and elected to send him to WBA under Pulis to sit on their bench.
I thought at the time it may be a good move but then realised that Pulis has form for his past 3 loan deals of young players not getting more than a handful of starts e.g Gnabry who scored a hattrick for germany last week.
Part of me thinks it's a few players knowing they'll be out the door in jan / the summer. Tbh most sides outside of City/Chelsea/Liverpool and Arsenal are inconsistent. Spurs have dropped points to poor sides and needed a penalty to beat a poor West ham side, Utd spent a kings ransom and are level on points with us, and the likes of Southampton and Leicester are 5 points+ behind us.
As I said earlier if we bring in 3-4 signings and we are still playing poor next season then I'll be questioning the manager as I done over his Rom comments, but right now business is business and short term we need a manager to solidify us back as a top 7 side and Koeman is capable of doing that and currently is.
We need a left sided playmaker, CB and GK asap with a back up forward to Rom. Get them and an eventual replacement for Barry in a Nzonzi/Capoue model and we'll improve tenfold imo.
Galloway can't even get into the West Brom lineup how are earth he starts ahead of Baines? He played 3 league games so far and they are sending him back in Jan.
"How does Galloway start ahead of Baines".
Answer = The same reason why he shouldnt have been dropped for Baines last season + Baines looks past his best...
Same thing happened to Holgate this season...
Both should be starting.

The fragility of their confidence is one thing that concerns me. It looks as though the early games were pure "new manager effect" with little long term improvements. But it is stil early days and a couple of unexpected victories in this harder run of games are quite possible and will keep us up in a decent position. Still not sure how I would define our style of play at the moment though. Still looks a bit haphazard with player in possession waiting and waiting to see what might be on rather than players moving in expectation of doing what they have practised in training.I think the mistake we are all making is to compare us to the other sides in the league and how they play...ignore them and just look at our side.
What i think @davek and @Ernie have highlighted is quite interesting...if we had continued this high tempo 45mins pressing game that we were doing earlier in the season until now...then we should look much better...instead we look like a relegation side.
The players confidence seems to have totally crumbled and they dont look like they want to enjoy themselves...
How can that be after getting points on the board they suddenly collapse over the past 7 games and Norwich?
These players wouldnt be moved on if they kept up the points totals they were amassing and we would sit in joint 3rd now i think with a couple more wins.
why cant koeman motivate them to play how he wants for 90mins now as time has gone by since he had them running for 45mins...

If someone can explain to me what Koeman is TRYING to do, that would be a good start. They just look like a slight variation of Martinez. And that's not the comparison a new manager, especially one who is labelled 'the best manager we've had in 20 years', should be compared to.
