Everton: we look an unhappy camp

If someone can explain to me what Koeman is TRYING to do, that would be a good start. They just look like a slight variation of Martinez. And that's not the comparison a new manager, especially one who is labelled 'the best manager we've had in 20 years', should be compared to.
The best manager we've had in the past 20 years is Moyes, that's without any doubt, to do what he did over 11 years spending on average £1m per season (Koff Kenwright) was fantastic really. When you also consider he got Howard, Coleman, Baines, Jagielka, Lescott, Distin, Stones, Arteta, Pienaar and Cahill for the cost of around £32m he did great for us. It's up to Koeman/Walsh to match and better that. Can they? Maybe. Have they proved one way or another that they can/can't? Absolutely not.

My car keeps breaking down.

But my old one kept breaking down too so thats OK.
Only ok if they had the bottle to admit that the car was broke at the time and not put their pride in front of having a working vehicle. All the like monkeys were loving it at the start of last season when we were on 17 points from 12 games but 19 points from 12 isn't good enough this year.

State of it.

All of it is laughable.

Regardless of which side of the fence people are on its absolutely ridiculous to judge Koeman's Everton this early.

This works both ways. The people saying that we are better than we were last season are just as annoying and kneejerky as the ones who are saying he is rubbish.

"but we are only a couple of wins off a champions league spot!"
"We are only a coupe of losses away from a relegation fight"

So bloody what?? At this point of the season that could be said about most teams!

Until he has had a full season (at the very least) where the results are at least comparable how can anyone judge one way or another?

Doesnt matter what someone in the past did for me anyway. A manager is judged on his own merits not what he has done compared to somebody else.

Mate if you are happy with defeats against Burnley, Norwich and Bournemouth and draws with Palace/Swansea at home with one win in eight playing some of the worst football about then that's up to you

I can 100% put my life on there being a different outlook after the next 5 games, Three of those being against Utd/Arsenal and Liverpool

At this stage it is hard to see us emerging from either Saints or Watford with a win.

I think we will get tanked by Arsenal and maybe sneak a hard earned point against the RS.

It is a sad reflection on the current state of Manchester United that they are the only one of our pre Christmas fixtures I could see us just about winning

A maximum of six points is all I can see from these five games.....and that is an optimistic view on it because both the RS and United are well capable of upping the ante and beating us.

So if you "stake" your life on a "different outlook" on how things are going after that Ernie, I don't think you have much to fear

But hey......it's all good innit

We are sitting 7th, just five or six points off the CL placings :pint2:

Hopefully Khal, our wayward form of the past few weeks will lure all the opposition into a false sense of security and Koeman can somehow get the team motivated to spring a few surprises.
Have to admit though to not looking forward to the Arsenal game.

I think that's fair, I'm totally on board with your stance, I just can't stand hypocrisy and inconsistency.

We can but hope, Andy ;)

Ha I'm sure we all do.

When tensions get high though it can happen. Passion makes people do strange things.
Genuinely I do, I said back in March I wanted Koeman, before Martinez was sacked, if I was like some others I'd back him no matter where we finished this season, even if we were 11th or 13th even if we were on 28 points after 28 games, but that's not me. No top 8 with this season (which is reasonable) he should be let go, given what we are paying him.
