Erm...because this was the opinion Of the OP after our 12th league game last season. That very same 12th game got us our 17th point - 2 less then we are currently on - I think this highlights the agenda.

So in summary 12 games played 17 points in 15/16 the season was on track (we'd lost the same amount and won 1 less)

Now 19 points from 12 games and we have an unhappy camp lollollol

As I said earlier, I'm not saying it's cause for concern. It was just the choice of stat that made me laugh. Using a minuscule improvement on last season as a benchmark is really not a great way to support the argument that we're doing well.

I agree, but the main protagonists/likemonkeys were all more than happy last year.

Because the answer isn't as simple as that. Martinez was meant to be a tiki taka God yet we were effing boring under his management for the previous 2 seasons.

I'll name you the main reasons that I believe:

1. The team don't press near enough

2. The team lacks a play maker in the side

3. The team requires fresh legs rather than the old guard of Barry, Jags, Williams and Baines.

Fix those 3 with new signings in their prime (not 20 year old prospects or 32 year olds) but Payet like signings in their prime who have the mentality and physicality to press the opposition and play with fight and desire and we'll get there.

At the moment it all comes back to the pee poor summer for me. Walsh and Koeman now have had the time to address targets give them a chance FFS. people would think we are sat in mid table being told all is phenomenal.

He's signed 4 first team players, He's had 5 months with the players and still its all down to Martinez

Koeman is massively underperforming with this squad and his inability to motivate his players is alarming

Mate if you are happy with defeats against Burnley, Norwich and Bournemouth and draws with Palace/Swansea at home with one win in eight playing some of the worst football about then that's up to you

I can 100% put my life on there being a different outlook after the next 5 games, Three of those being against Utd/Arsenal and Liverpool
