No way... Not this season anyway.

Even if we didn't get another point at least two of the teams down there shouldn't overtake us
You do realise three go down?

Having said that, I may be feeling very angry and fed up the way things are going at the moment, especially the stupidity of a player or two, I have not the remotest fear that we'll get relegated, or even get dragged back. The PL this season is crazy, where three wins on the bounce could take a team, from 15th to 4th, should other results go their way.

Sunderland fan in peace here.

Pleased with the outcome but it was a much changed team for both so i'm not sure how much you can look into it when so many changes are made, we made 5 changes in the league cup at home vs huddersfield this season and got dumped out. I was pleased to avoid ndaiye and grealish today as both were excellent at the sol this season. Luckily sadiki was back after getting knocked out of afcon, he was an unreal find for us and linked up really well with xhaka .

Ref was shocking all game for both sides and crazy penalty decision just summed him up.

I'm sure it will be a very different game in the league when we meet in may, until then good luck with the season.

BTW.... love the new ground but will always prefer goodison, it was my favourite away ground as it is mostly a larger version of roker park.

That the club continue to roll out Beto and Barry with no other viable options is probably the biggest indictment of how poor Everton's current management are at recruitment and development.
The attacking options are by no means top quality, but the main problem lies elsewhere. At the moment our forwards are forced to start counter-attacks from far too deep, as the whole team is sitting in a low block, or they end up fighting for long balls against multiple centre-backs.

Someone was calling for more runs in behind from the strikers, but for heaven’s sake, that’s simply not possible if we never get the ball into areas where penetrative passes can actually be played. In my view, the biggest issue right now is overly negative tactics.

Sunderland had a load of players missing as well mate.
Wolves as well had a lot of changes when we played them in the cup. You can argue cup football is a different beast and that is true. We can't argue about missing X or Z because the other club is in the same boat and you should have your squad prepared. All in all for a cup game, this was not a weak lineup. We have gotten through with worse. Moyes needs to have a second team integrated into the squad so they can at least execute the basics. He has done a poor job of that.
