Look, it's been a really bad period over Christmas and the new year. Historically Moyes has a better second half so I'm just hoping he can get it together once our key players are back. Scary to think about the future without Ndiaye and Gana.

No doubt, mate. We’ll definitely be fine in terms of the season. Adding everyone back plus Jarrad will be brilliant. It shows how exposed we are and that we need more time to build a better starting team and deeper bench.

I would even go as far to say the game was over once Sunderland scored which is a terrible indictment of the team as there was no way we would have scored two or more and we all knew what was going to happen in the shootout.
Normally I'd cut Moyes some slack with the missing creative players but I half suspect that it would of been a similarly tight game even if they were available as Moyes would still be thinking too defensively. I mean Aznou in 4 minutes gave us some much needed impetus so couldn't he have brought him on a little earlier as we were meandering beforehand?

I cannot believe that there are fans excusing the performance today. By highlighting players missing, it then gives an excuse for biting outfought, outthought and outrun! The club has had a very bad day today. Top to bottom, it’s been miles off. I bet castore are happy that the new kit is forever associated with that disgrace today.

I had a look at the team throughout the game today and tried to give them some leeway but that starting eleven should be performing better and showing more desire. Cup game up for grabs and we didn't want it. Sunderland for large parts of the game were settled on the ball and could play their game with little pressure.

Some positives is that Patterson can work down the right side and get crosses into the box, he needed more from Dibling today who didn't even want to be on the pitch.

Aznou saved the day and showed something that tells me he has a part to play in the second half of the season. Let's keep using him, he did fine.

No it isn't. Relegation scrap on the way. Those on here saying we will be ok 2nd half of season really have no idea how poor we are.

That wont happen. But I dont care about that or getting mid-table or even bare top half without a European place.

The season is over in that regard.

We're stuck in the appalling middle of an appalling low quality but hyper inflated league.
