Suggesting that the Irish PM didn't have the interests of the Irish people in mind because he has an Indian surname is pretty borderline.
Oh really? Ffs Pete help me out here

Funny how often our agriculture industry was used as a stick to beat Brexit with if we left with no deal. That may well be so, but we're not going to build a modern economy on agriculture, are we? 0.61% of our GDP from agriculture. Why it has such an outsized place in this debate is beyond me.
prev's been the same, most have been the same because, even after all these years, it seems that Brexit is just a rose tinted nationalist move based on sentiment and nostalgia. It boils down to 'We're Britain and no ones gonna tell us what to do'.I know you are from Ireland, and by association that you didn't vote on Brexit. But you have consistently, in this thread, taken the same stance as many remain voters in that you are extremely negative in your views on the prospects of Brexit, and that is what I meant in my post.
As regards the government I voted Brexit but I didn't vote for this government. I'm embarrassed by a lot of the rhetoric coming out at the moment and they've also made a mess of the Immigration Bill in my opinion. So yes, I do wonder at their ability to make the most of the opportunities that Brexit offers and have voiced this opinion quite a few times within this thread.
I also broadly agree with your comments on small businesses. More should have been done to assist them with planning for Brexit, but in mitigation the Government has had it's hands full with covid this year. I did make a post some time ago saying that the deadline for an FTA should have been put back by 6 or 12 months due to covid, to give both sides more time to prepare, as this will effect a lot of small firms within euroland too. That post got shot down, by Remainers.
The English are a race too are they not?. If somebody said something anti English, would that make them a racist?the Irish are a race, pete- if you don’t want to be called a racist, don’t come out with racist things

No mate. They removed their territorial claim, but Varadkar wants to make a name for himself.
Like many people on here, I’m of pure Irish descent. My family trace back to the time of kings of Ireland. I have one of the oldest surnames in Ireland and am proud of it. But I cannot abide Varadkar, a good old Irish name, causing trouble between Ireland and the U.K. for political reasons.
I want our two countries to be together, separate, but as one, just like Wales and Scotland. Not a political union, but a union of similar people, as we indeed are. We have our differences, we have our arguments, but at the end of the day we are more family than anyone else in Europe.....
He is not as Irish as you are. That’s not racist, just a matter of history. He is a politician first and foremost and I believe he is not serving either the ROI nor NI in this matter.....
I don’t trust him. It may be irrational, but I don’t trust him, I think he is screwing everyone up.....
Yes. It's part of the Common Travel Area, so as long as that doesn't get abolished you can travel to NI, even after it gets united with the South.I havnt been paying much attention to the "get prepared" radio ads, cos I aint going anywhere, nor run a business.
But a new one, (might be old as come to think of it), talks about getting prepared if any of your business is with or goes through NI. So that will be that new border thing I assume. (I guess thats controlling your own borders; lob them anywhere).
But can I still freely travel to Belfast without doing anything? Like if I went to Wales or Scotland?

So we're all tarred with the same brush now?Farage was lauding the fact that EU citizens will now have the same access to state support as non-EU migrants (ie none for 5 years). It doesn't exactly help your cause.
It's ok, I've helped him out....interesting that you presented more apology for this than your unsavoury comments about Varadkar, but I suppose that goes to the heart of the issue....
I‘d love to, but you are responding to someone whose post says ‘you are are ignoring content by this member’ and I have no intention of reading it...sorry....

I haven't seen much criticism of him, Patel or any other standard-bearer of immigration-based Brexit. So we're all tarred with the same brush now?
You think you'd get used to it after a while, but you don't.
For a moment there I was going to oblige. But there really isn't any point is there. It will all just get ridiculed as unicorn or something similar.I wont pretend I know much about either of them, but earlier you were saying that fishermen were annoyed that they had to fill forms in to sell fish to the EU, so at least the CFP had some merit, no?
As for "without even thinking", go on then. Help my pretend boat and field of wheat.
I took 83 off ignore just before Xmas. So far I'm sticking to it.I had put a couple on ignore and found that for a month or so everything was fine, unfortunately over Christmas I weakened and removed the couple on ignore. It was a mistake. One went back on almost immediately and the other today, so hopefully all will be good.....
Genuinely made me chuckle that's going to role. The way Project Fear has turned into Project No one really knows is great. I can’t wait for Project who could have predicted this.
