I know. But I do find it offensive to be told I voted leave because of racist connotations....

FWIW, despite your occasional animosity towards us Paddies, I don't believe you're a racist of any stripe. The forum would be a boring place if we didn't have at least one armchair Tory pushing armoured divisions around a map with a stick and telling everyone they're wrong

this is true, though when you start to vault for mentions of the word “Irish” by pete and you hit the ten page limit then you know the game is afoot.

It was literally him who was suggesting it was doomed and he explained exactly why. Yet here’s you...

Trade deals with who? We’ve taken 4 years trying to replicate our existing terms with nations around the globe. Australia are embarking on a FTA with the EU. Biden’s US won’t be falling over themselves to do a deal with the U.K., so which worldwide powerhouses are you referring to? India? Who have already want an element of free movement? It’s delusional piffle to suggest we’re going to end up with these fantastic new opportunities ahead of the largest trade bloc on the planet that’s literally next door. It’s Unicorns like this that have landed us in this shitshow.
Just wait until the world hears about the eels we've got for sale.

Its gonna be a tricky adjustment for those millions in the service industry for sure, but with stout British made waders and a can-do attitude we'll make eel farmers of 'em yet.

Aside from setting up a consultancy on how to deal with Brexit red tape and maybe an outsourcing business to take care of the mountains of import / export paperwork for SME’s. I’m struggling to think of any tangible ways to exploit Brexit from Friday onwards. You got any tangible examples like?
Well without even thinking there will be the multiple ways that the UK can exploit being out of both the Common Agricultural and Common Fisheries policies. But you'll just say that we were better off within those disastrous schemes. So there's no point us even conversing really is there.

That may well be so, but we're not going to build a modern economy on agriculture, are we? 0.61% of our GDP from agriculture. Why it has such an outsized place in this debate is beyond me.

I wont pretend I know much about either of them, but earlier you were saying that fishermen were annoyed that they had to fill forms in to sell fish to the EU, so at least the CFP had some merit, no?

As for "without even thinking", go on then. Help my pretend boat and field of wheat.

This is the bit where we do all of those tangible benefits that no one can actually describe isn’t it?

Fish was defo on the list, but it seems it’s been hooked despite all that lovely Sovereignty stuff we won.

Suggesting that the Irish PM didn't have the interests of the Irish people in mind because he has an Indian surname is pretty borderline.
