We were told to up ours to that figure. In other words, being told by the EU what to do economic & tax wise...
Malta's VAT rate is 18%. Luxembourg's is 17%, below the 17.5% the UK had before the UK government decided to increase it to 'balance the books'.

Overall we will have a budget surplus of 10 billion per year on eventually leaving the EU it would be cheaper paying the 3 percent tariffs than membership!

No I am not we are the 2nd highest contributor to the EU we import 40 percent export 8 percent their budget rebates they tell us how it's to be spent we need to rid ourselves from this polictical Union and renegotiate a trade deal which we went in for in the first place a common market of trade no polictical Union where all 27 countries have to vote the same way for one decision to pass a law!
