Anyone betting on a recession is betting the wrong way given what I've seen the BoE and Osborne do the last few days.

Capital flight should slow down when there is more political certainty which should follow fairly quickly now with Theresa May. Things won't be rushed.

Thats what these investors are worried about.

These blokes do not bet. They are not day traders. They are not even year traders!

Someone, it seems, has serious issues re the future viability of upward moving rental yields. Almost certainly a massive pension fund.

Have you heard of 'game theory'

All financial decisions is calculated risk.

i.e. betting.

Why did our VAT rate go up to 20%?

I'll tell you why. Because the EU said that we HAD to fall into line with the VAT rate in other EU countries. That's why.

They don't decide our economic policy or taxation system... REALLY...???

Does every country in the EU have a 20% standard VAT rate?

It will settle down in a few years, then when we are able to trade without restrictions in the world people may say what was all the fuss about - we may get our manufacturing industries back on track with the competitive £ too!
it will settle down before then joey66 ,the upcoming mess in Italy will see to that.
They cant under current EU rules sort there debt out, its a hugh figure, and its coming to a head very shortly.
The Euro zone will be in turmoil and we will be seen as a safer haven, if we can detatch in time

Have you ever been involved in running final salary pension funds or in commercial property investment funds?

I have. In both.

They do not bet.

I don't sadly. I just opened a new pension fund yesterday incidently.

So do you think the appointment of Theresa May and some stability might reverse the recent days trend?

Dunno mate.

Just hope that collectively we just get through the inevitable uncertainty, and we can then enjoy the lovely sunny post EU nirvana that is apparently nailed on now. According to some.

There is a minimal sales tax across Europe at 15%. We exceed the minimum by 5%. So, you're wrong.

Not so sure its a nivarna. It means we have to work 10% harder I would say.

I think sometimes people don't know they're well off until its gone.
