That's politics for you. Labour are no better.

But I still think BoJo can unify his party (almost!) and reverse austerity while protecting jobs and the economy. It won'thappen overnight though.
So your explanation for every chinless Tory u turn is the gormless response "that's politics for you'? That is your most pathetic answer yet. Stick to flying planes mate.

Indeed....
I'm not interested in Hammond or any other Tory clown, especially the one we have in situ right now. You asked the question about how old the yellowhammer correspondence was, the insinuation (as the unelected idiot Cummings who was briefing from inside number 10 was suggesting) behind that a disaffected previous minister was leaking. You now have your answer. None of the country should get behind the known and proven liar Johnson. He is a total phoney, like most tories. A useless journalist who admitted telling lies throughout the time he was in Brussels, a proven liar who has been sacked on more than one occasion for lying, and the worst ever Foreign Secretary that made Britain the laughing stock of the world. He also passed the infamous 'self pity city' remarks about the people of Liverpool for publication, meaning that no self respecting Liverpool citizen regards him with anything else than complete contempt. In the face of all this, I can only conclude that scouse and non scouse Evertonians who like Johnson (and accordingly disregard his rap sheet) are just weird.
Nobody should get behind this idiot.

I think that is a bit strong.

He certainly has made mistakes in the past but I believe he has matured and learned from them. He is certainly no Churchill but I do think he is the best option we have for a while.

But only time will tell.

Tories don't have a monopoly on U Turns mate. How many times has Corbyn reversed his position on brexit?

In many ways he has a similar problem to May. May was a Remainer in charge of delivering a brexit she never wanted.

Corbyn is a brexiteer trying to lead a Party that is now pro remain despite representing 90+ constituencies that voted leave - many by a large majority.

It has already ended badly for May and I think it will for Corbyn too.

Boris has defaulted back to give away Tory budgets before an election which given the parliamentary arithmetic isn't long coming. Nice headlines but we will pay later for it.

I hope I'm wrong on that but seeing we couldn't rub two farthings together beforehand and with the extra billion to NI for the confidence and supply deal, it's like we've said screw it there is already x amount on the credit card so let's max it out.
Starting with no more grants to impoverished regions of the UK then. They'll have to rely on a hard right Tory government for those instead. Good luck to them with that.

Why would a government divert extra money to a region that has a deep routed, tribal hatred to their party and always will, no matter what you do? Lets face it, these grants are bribes for votes. And these bribes are better spent in marginal seats. Sad, but that's how it is.

But you knew that already.
I mean you can paste a link but it doesn't tell me the nuance does it. Not all laws are black and white, overwise we wouldn't have barristers and legal challenge.

Which bits are you specifically relying on to make your claims?

I have equal contempt for any politician that will say anything to get elected. Have you ever, while having a pop at Corbyn (who I can't stand, for the avoidance of doubt) seen your mate Johnson extolling the virtues of the single market and Customs Union? It is this that makes me suspect that he'll bung a couple of billion to the DUP bigots and cut them loose in due course. That's because Johnson is what Johnson is. He is not only prone to u turns, he is a proven liar. As I have stated recently, any blue who supports him is beneath contempt. Each to his own I suppose.

I know this is difficult for most Tory voters to grasp, but the Tory Party is not the country - nor is the country's money to be spent on propping up the Tory Party.

You want to be asking that Carrie whatever her name is whether she thinks that Johnson has changed. This country will find out in due course whether our esteemed Foreign Secretary was deliberately under performing whilst serving under May or just plain incompetent. Same for Raab. If so, they should be barred from High Office. Otherwise they are just plain incompetent, no?

Can you not just read it and use your own intelligence rather than relying on mine.

I wouldn't want to be accused of providing only selective info to you. Have a good read and form your own opinion.

Right. We voted in constituencies did we? How did Hoey's lot vote then?

I'd like to know what yours is and why?

I've given my answer in the British Steel thread...
Might be of interest:
https://www.ippr.org/research/publications/state-aid-rules-and-brexit

EU legislation protects the right of member states to nationalise industries. Art. 345 TFEU states “The Treaties shall in no way prejudice the rules in Member States (MS) governing the system of property ownership.”

It can't give an advantage, but under 107(3) exemptions to 107, it could be argued that it would protect an area that was economically disadvantaged..

True, just as the EU has no money but merely controls the recycling of members contributions. I am sure the same principle is applied there and it is gratifying to see you criticising policy also practiced by EU.
