Even if that is 100% true (which it isnt), again, how does it effect you, living mainly in Dubai?

Are you really trying to pretend it doesn't affect 5000 British citizens, plus their families, plus their communities when 5000 jobs are lost because of EU rules?

Or is it perfectly ok for fellow countrymen to lose their jobs and communities provided it doesn't affect me?

I have demonstrated perfectly how EU interference has adversely affected the lives of 5000 UK workers their families and their communities but your slavish adherence to your agenda seems to be preventing you from acknowledging what is blatantly obvious.

Don't those people matter to you?

Unreal. Not even worthy of a reply.

But you knew that already.

Not enough cut and pasting for a Bot mate. Unfortunately, he is for real.

Hmmmm.

Because you can't offer one, can you!

CBA more like. If you cant see the irony of you blaming the EU for a UK (ish) steel plant being run badly, and the impact Brexit will have on the well run car plants in the UK, there really is no point.

I have seen some jaundiced attitudes in my time but some of the posters here are unreal.

We offer an opinion, get asked questions to justify it, offer the justification in the form of independent and articulate papers and you then go into full on denial mode when you realise you have no counter.

I thought Evertonians were better than that. I really did.

Very sad.

The fact remains that without EU interference, 5000 UK steel workers in Scunthorpe would still have a job.

Just this once and especially for you.

EU rules prevent UK government from subsidising (ie saving) the UK steel industry plant in Scunthorpe.

I think the 5000 people who are about to lose their jobs there would say EU rules have had a fairly dramatic effect on their lives.

If that plant had been able to supply (better quality btw) steel to build our own Royal Navy ships then the plant would be alive and thriving and we would have British ships built from British steel. But EU rules forced the contract out to EU wide tender and the cheaper (but lower quality) Spanish tender had to be accepted - under EU rules.

The sooner this nonsense ends, the better.
So instead of the EU subsidising the steel industry, the U.K. tax payer does. Taking back control; way to go man.

Better than the UK tax payer subsidising industry in the other EU27 countries which is what is happening at the moment with much of our net contributions!

So you admit the steel industry is subsidised and will continue to have to be whether we are in or out of the EU which knocks your "It's all the EU's fault" argument on the head. To deflect this you resort to the usual
"Whataboutery". Meh.

There is no such thing as EU money. It is just recycled members contributions after the mega tax free salaries, final salary pensions and huge allowances have been paid to EU employees. The UK is a substantial net contributor but the contributions are not being used for the good of UK, leastways, not as well as if we saved our membership fees and decided how we were going to spend our money rather than have the dipso from Luxembourg decide for us.
