England U21's

I want at least four players in the U21 next season.

Not bad at 18 though has to be said.

Well in Jack.

I am always edgy when we have players on international duty at all levels fearing injuries will occur. I would much rather them being injured whilst being involved with the club, not that i wish injuries you understand.

That worked out well, he didn't play much so should feel fresh this morning but he'll gain confidence from knowing that he's the manager's thoughts.

What was the atmosphere like at the ground? I saw the U21s at Goodison once & it was absolutely full of kids, loads who were cheering for Glen Johnson because he was probably the only player they knew, even though Hibbert was on the bench trying to replace him

I can understand some folks not liking the England team.

Myself, I support them to the end, sometimes with doubts, but I support all the same.

My main reason for wanting our lads in all levels of the national set up is that it is the best way to attract young talent with international aspirations into our ranks.
They look at us and think"Go there, play well, represent your national team".

Not exactly rocket science.

Playing for your country against a higher quality of players is surely beneficial for that player's development?

I see International football as important as club football in terms of developing a player. The experience can be invaluable when it comes to playing against peers who have not made the international grade.

If he gets injured he gets injured. I seem to recall lots of our players get injured during training for Everton, or at home in some freak incident.

bingo.

ever wonder why we get the shi tty end of the stick from fleet street while lfc, mufc, cfc and afc are the darlings?

if we had players in the squad, scoring goals and the rest like in '86 everton would be back on the map and no mistake.

but that means i support england only because it benefits everton to do so.

not so!

i really love the world cups and euros, hoping england win them.

i guess i'm just a footy fan.

Well that happened because Rooney had the opportunity to go and play for:

a. a world class manager
b. world class players
c. a side that have more chance of winning silverware than Everton
d. a world class stadium
e. well I don't think we need an e.
