Yeah and also the best players could play in a team and win **** all. Matt Le Tissier for example. Alan Shearer, and so.

Shearer won the leauge mate! Le Tisser he was good but comeon was he ever in the running for the Ballon d'Or or word football of the year!

Really does Le Tisser fit into the below quaity! Champions Leauge all the way:

I repeat:

George Best
Eusebio
Giggs
Shevchenkho
Puskas
Figo
Schemicheal
Keane
Weah
Saviecevic
Nedved
Laudraup
Larrson
Yassen
Dauglish
Stoijkivic
Hagi
Boban
Probvineski
Stoitkoiv

Is it there fault they were born into a country of crap demograhics. All had successfull club careers though and were arguably the best players in the world in their heyday. Surely the World Cup is a lottery of genetics and geograpohy rather then a true test of the best team or talent.

Is that really a fact or just your opinion?

It's pretty much a fact mate.

Most people I know, (not on this forum), regard the World Cup as the biggest trophy on the planet, football wise. They did when I was growing up, and they still do. I have to add this doesn't apply to Liverpool fans who it seems prefer Spain.

Nuno Valente's better than Mikel Arteta because he's played at the highest level.

Come on guys it's all relative.

Players who play at International level play around 7 games a year on average, whereas they play around 50 at club level. So it's difficult to make the comparison. But there is very little loyalty at club level, wheras at International level there is enormous loyalty.

Any evidence that this is a fact or just lots of different opions?

I've watched both the Champions League and the World cup, I've studied them with my footballing Brain and in my OPINION the Champions League is better.

International level, you select from a pool of players from 1 country.
National level, you selct from a pool of players from the entire world.

If you have nobody from your country who can play Left Wing, your screwed. i.e See Gerrard for England.

National level you can just buy somebody.

Its not relative mate, theres no choice in international football you play for the counrty your born in, how can you choose to be loyal or not when you dont have a choice. How would you classify Scholes and Shearer who gave up international football argueably in thier prime, or Duncan Ferguson for that matter?

Do you think Canada would have one the owrld cup if Pele had played for them, i think not.

Lets face it the best players in the world play for the best clubs and CL is the only show in town, you cant say that argentina are a better team then say Barcelona!

TAKE TIME TO THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE TYPING MATE.

Wouldn't mind being the manager of Brazil, or the Spanish come to that.
Dutch have a great crop of players, and the organisation of the Germans.

No, not really I can think of a few "Australians" who were born in Australia and trained with Australian tax player funded money and decided to play for the country of their parents birth, quite a few croatians and possibly one liverpool goal keeper who might play for greece, once again born and trained with Australian tax payer dollars.

But it was oh so sweet knocking those dirty croatians out of the world cup

Its only opinions mate, i support international football and i follow Irealnd all over the world. Not because we have the best players or we play the best football but because, being Irish and for that matter belonging to any nation is innate and personal to a select group of people, and sharing expeirence be it elation, dissappointment etc wiith people who share the same cutlure and sense of identity as you and doingit all over the world is a special thing.

Thats why ill be in SA next year, its compleatley different from club football and the CL is far superior, but international football if you have a team is special for different reason though!
