When we have 4? Add mori 5? No we don’t.
Yeah but two of them should be in retirement homes.

He could well be an improvement on what we have. I don't know as I feel Keane has been hampered by his injury lately and is also shot of confidence.Mangala has played left back before. So he'll be used in a back four, or a back three when required. Shut out a bit at City but a very good defender. 'Better than what we've got' definitely.

Wow,a link to a piece that accuses Allardyce of having tactical insight.Really expected it to outline how he'd told his players to hoof it down the middle at every opportunity...as usual.
He must surely be signing to play left back. We already have five centre backs on our books (albeit 3 of them woeful).
Coleman - Holgate - Keane - Mangala looks a damn sight better than Kenny - Holgate - Williams - Martina
Mangala is strong and has a good left foot. If all he's asked to do is stop crosses and held us retain possession he'll be a massive step up from Martina.

What I do know is that, whenever we play City, I always feel as though we have a chance when Mangala is in the city line up.
He does have decent pace though so will allow us to defend higher up against the poorer teams. You just know Allardyce wont though.
Would be hapoier if it was a 6 month loan than a perm.
Could the pair of Jagielka and Williams be leaving us today? Both out on loan with a view to a permanent deal or being released in the summer?
No, of course not. We won't be playing them but will keep paying both of them 70k a week for nothing. We have Holgate, Keane and Mangala all fully fit, and Mori who'll be back fit within a month for the final 10 games.
But nah, we still desperately need our captain fantastics.

Mate, don't underestimate clubs being soft enough to think they are great captains with a wealth of experience at the top level. I expect both players are professional enough to realise they're done here and need to move if they want to play. Hell, we could even subsidise their wages for them to take a step down. Rather lose them and pay them 20k a week to join a Championship team.Who exactly is going to be knocking down the door to take a Jags/Williams off our hands? Other teams in the prem? Unlikely, they can see how poor they’ve been. Championship team? Wages will put a stop to that. Can’t see either ever going abroad.
We might end up with 6 centre backs if/when Mori is fit, but as said, jags and Williams just aren’t up to it so why are you considering them as options?
Think people are also forgetting that Mori was a total liability. Looked great for 70mins of a game, most dangerous defender when we had a corner maybe, but you were always waiting for his calamitous moments that’d lead to a clear chance for the opposition.
Mori is not the saviour. He’s just got a left foot.
Mangala looks a bit like another Mori to me...
