WE need a left back and Sam signs another Center half to go with the crap ones we already have. This is on par with Koeman we need a striker and signs number 10s. This clubs a joke
Could the pair of Jagielka and Williams be leaving us today? Both out on loan with a view to a permanent deal or being released in the summer?

No, of course not. We won't be playing them but will keep paying both of them 70k a week for nothing. We have Holgate, Keane and Mangala all fully fit, and Mori who'll be back fit within a month for the final 10 games.

But nah, we still desperately need our captain fantastics.

Steve Walsh, transfer expert.

Obviously not the signing we were all hoping for, but better than every option we have at centre back at the moment, and left-sided to boot. If it means Williams never plays again for the club I'll be happy.

I just cant bring myself to do it Toff, I will happily support the team, but the absolute beauts we have in charge of our club will not get my support... Sam and Walsh need to be removed.

I wont hold my breath - I think they will be here for AT LEAST another season.

I held my hands up at the time and said Sam will be the death of the club for me, especially if it was anything longer then a quick fix, I have 0 enjoyment out of EFC at the moment and listening to anything Sam says just kills me a little more inside.

Sam is going to oversee us well and truly pulled back in it, I have absolutely no doubt about that...

On topic, Mangala is a woeful signing imo - surely the club and recruitment could have been more imaginative then this.

The players are to blame as well like.

But yeh I agree overall.

I think the Mangala signing ultimately just sums up where we're at though, tbh.

I don't think he's awful, but I don't think he's very good. He wasn't the quality required to bridge the gap.

Ultimately though we aren't even close to bridging the gap and if you look at it, then he probably suits the quality of the team as it stands. He's no better or worse than anyone else

Never been impressed by him but having more options at a position we've been absolutely dreadful in this season surely can't hurt. By all accounts he was ok at Valencia last season although I can't claim to have seen a great deal of him over there. With Funes Mori apparently on the way back however it is a little surprising.

Absolutely. Six centre backs on the books now (Mangala, Holgate, Mori, Keane, Williams, Jagielka) for 15 games of football. What on earth is going on with the club? The squad consists of centre backs and number 10s, none of whom are actually any good. I can only assume he's signing to play left back for us. It's the only explaination.

Sam got a tune out of Sakho and Lamina Kone, surely he can turn around a French international who was tipped for the top before he went to City?
As others have said hopefully with this we are packing Jags off to Moyesy as a sweetener to take Schneiderlin off our hands and Williams will find his way to Sunderland to play for Coleman.

Either that or this is the end of the Jagielka/Williams axis of evil. I would hope both get bombed to the stands for the remainder of the season and Keane/Holgate/Mangala/Funes Mori can keep the ball out of our net enough times to keep us up and bring this miserable season to an end. Here's hoping.

Here's hoping mate. At this point, for me at least and despite people saying we're safe and will have enough (no idea how anybody can claim this by the way) it's more in hope than expectation. Fully expect us to be 14th/15th by the end of the weekend.
