He does have pro's I cant even deny that, he looked quality for Porto... In Portugal.
In this league he has looked beyond crap tho... People doing a comparison with Sakho, Sakho still showed signs of the good defender he was at PSG at the RS, but their defensive flu contaminated him... Mangala has shown nothing, or very little, to suggest this is going to be anything more then a huge mistake.
Smacks of a move to 3-5-2 to me. Coleman rwb, Bolasie Lwb (maybe Kenny) with Walcott up top with Tosun. Interesting. Let's see what happens....

The main thing with Mangala is his pace.
Which may help us push up a bit...
In all likelihood he'll end up playing at left-back like.
Which begs the question why the f don't we just sign a left-back

Aye we'll see.
Sam likes to have a quick player at the back though so clearly this is his way of doing it. I can't even say we don't need it because we do - all of our defenders bar Holgate look like they're running through mud - but clearly it's not the quality we'd desire.
That being said I do think we as a fanbase have to just accept where we're currently at, get behind the bunch of sh*thouse managers and coaches (yes, I'm including Dunc) for the rest of the season and hope that we don't get sucked into the scrap proper.
The summer needs a huge clear out, and Walsh and Sam should be the first two out of the door.
Our recruitment hasn't been imaginative since Moyes was here.I just cant bring myself to do it Toff, I will happily support the team, but the absolute beauts we have in charge of our club will not get my support... Sam and Walsh need to be removed.
I wont hold my breath - I think they will be here for AT LEAST another season.
I held my hands up at the time and said Sam will be the death of the club for me, especially if it was anything longer then a quick fix, I have 0 enjoyment out of EFC at the moment and listening to anything Sam says just kills me a little more inside.
Sam is going to oversee us well and truly pulled back in it, I have absolutely no doubt about that...
On topic, Mangala is a woeful signing imo - surely the club and recruitment could have been more imaginative then this.
I am longing for the days of us plucking players from clubs rather cheaply and turning them into real top players... Pienaar, Arteta, Baines, Stones, Coleman, Cahill. All for less than 20m combined. Our recruitment hasn't been imaginative since Moyes was here.
Exactly he is quick as well which we don’t seem to haveI see him as being our Sakho like Palace did.
Very similar giraffe defender with a good hoof in him.
Next one is NO 5 since Mosh took overLook at what we've done the last 3 seasons. What world beaters are going to sign? I know money has a big part of it but potential players looking in from the outside would want to see a club who hasn't just burnt through 3 managers. Stability is what's needed. Maybe that will come with manager number 4. Or is it 5?
