2025/26 David Moyes

The alarm bells are ringing because that's what he does. Any time we look like progressing he reverts to type and craps himself.

He's not going to change now. So the question is whether people are happy to just sit there and spin our wheels or do we want to try and push on in what is supposed to be a new dawn for us (with the understanding of a change may not work, everybody knows the risks)
I think the decision that DM is manager next season is already made...anything beyond that I feel is now on hold.

I don't what can be done at this point to bring about a change of manager next season.

Our transfer activity this summer will be very interesting... to see who is controlling the process.

It makes me wonder if last season Dibling and Aznou were choices of the manager or not.
Their almost complete exclusion makes me think they may not have been.

Of course. That’s why it’s a multi-summer window job. People just need to show a bit of patience.
Ok fair enough, you have a point there in terms of the full back positions Iso I’ll reserve judgment until end of this window (a two summer window plan), but it doesn’t explain a lot of the other stuff like how we managed to fall of a cliff, his poor in game tactical subs, and over use of under performing / out of form players.

2,3,7,8,9,10 should never have been appointed...

I don’t disagree but that’s not my point, point is they dismissed a manager who won them a league title, spent a significant amount in the transfer market, had a poor season, retained champions league status and still dismissed the manager.

What is Tony Scott’s point exactly? People like him do my head in to be honest these days, they have a platform to be truthful and fair but they don’t, they act the disingenuous arsehole time and again.

It doesn't have to be though.

I don't even think football works like that now. You can take years to get the right players in but then the right ones you already have end up leaving because we have not progressed enough or end up on silly money.

….they did brilliantly, fantastic transfer window. They’ll be a good benchmark too.

Don’t get this ‘lack of ambition’ tag, except it’s a throwaway line everybody likes. Getting ahead of Bournemouth could mean Europe or even Champions League. You can throw a blanket over a number of teams in this league.
If you threw a blanket over our team they'd scream and run away!

We were hopeful yes, but because of the opportunity offered by the flat table and what probably felt like a third throw of the dice after a scrappy season start, missed cups and sticky Jan period and struggles post afcon.

But clearly what Moyes has assembled over 18 months sits well outside top half, and is poor to watch.

Without two away flukes vs utd and villa and were just above Spurs i think.

Moyes is arrogant, not competitive, failed commercially and hopefully, done.
There were probably about 15 to 20 points this season which were lost in extra time.

I am aware that shows something was not right in the team but it also shows that instead of being above Spurs we could have been much higher.

It just shows the mentality they have compared to us. He won them the league last season and is sacked after getting knocked out of the CL in the quarters against the winners and making the champions league again. Whereas we got knocked early in both cups, we’re on the brink of Europe with 7 games to go and didn’t win another league game, with the same dire predictable football. We can’t compete financially with them, but under a new ownership we could with our mentality. Sadly that has proven incorrect. Another missed opportunity.
