2025/26 David Moyes

Just one thing to add to this…you state that what I have posted is nonsense and you are of course entitled to your opinion, but if you can’t differentiate a one off game of 30% possession in a CL final vs what we play in each week, I don’t know what to tell you.

There’s a reason why players want to know what the plan is for them, when they speak with managers. They want to know who they’ll be used and what it potentially means for their own career progression. Players want to enjoy playing football. It’s how we all started out.

….all players will be told what the plans are for them but they’ll be under no doubt that’s it’s ultimately up to them to deliver. Nothing is guaranteed.

….not sure ‘what style of play is attractive to transfer targets’ means. Arsenal are in a CL final here with 30% of the play but every player working their heart out because it matters. Saka was like a 2nd full back but at Everton Moyes gets criticised for wanting Dibling to work hard.
The key difference between us and Arsenal.

It's alright if it's getting results but if it isn't people are going to be more frustrated and generally have less patience.

Attitude towards our league finish and points total would have been very different if we were playing a different style of football and developing our young players.

We should remember however that with seven or eight games to go I think there were relatively few complaints about the manager.
It was the collapse in the last number of games that got the alarm bells ringing.
Yes and no.

As there have been the same complaints all season. Had we qualified we'd be happy but we'd still have Keane Tarkowski defence. We'd still have the Beto Barry sub post 70 mins. We'd still be flogging KDH and Ndiaye to death. We'd still have negative football. List goes on.

It’s a one off game against the best in Europe. Of course saka has to work back in this particular game, not against Burnley, against who Moyes would play Dibling as a defensive winger.

…ah, so Saka doesn’t work hard week in week out. Of course he does because it’s a requirement of wide players. It’s a requirement of no10s too, Cunha commented how he’s told to do more behind the ball at United.

TBH.
I think @Eggs has probably forgotten more about football than most of us will ever know.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think it would serve us all well to realise their are others with a different but equally valid opinion.

This coming from someone who wanted Iraola as our manager next season.

I think you read the posts wrong ,there have posts about the style of play most of the season not just the last few .

You cannot have it all ways Braiden tries hard and scores but he is not ready ,Mcneil does well in training so gets a game but is rubbish ,how do they know if they will get a chance and how can they know if they have done enough ?

It’s all a bit of a nonsense. Points and wins make a difference, 5 or 6 points difference makes a difference.
Arsenal are one of the worst title winners of recent years , dull to watch .

Arteta seemingly learnt more from Moyes than Wenger( or Guardiola)
They are a throwback to Graham’s equally dull 1-0 wonders.
Hoping PSG can clinch the title as I type , they are the better footballing side without question.

Yeah agree, our season didn't end only in the poor run in.

  • Slow start ( classic Moyes )...
  • After a poor summer... ( no FB's, costly gamble on Jack )
  • Poor use of subs throughput
  • Dodgy mid-season and struggle of form of Ndiaye around AFCON
  • Failure of huge summer outlay to influence run-in
From pre-season to post you can see how the season has passed moyes by. I've been loyal, grateful for v1 Moyes and the bounce after Dyche.

But the consistency of the bad decisions is plain to see, time's up. The way he scarpered off to WC for more cash after our season is just more crass, disgraceful judgement , for what the average fan has to fork out to watch the last season.

He's finished as a manager for EFC if were serious about progress, on any front.

You're making up narratives. Honestly, it's embarrassing.

The alarm bells are ringing because that's what he does. Any time we look like progressing he reverts to type and craps himself.

He's not going to change now. So the question is whether people are happy to just sit there and spin our wheels or do we want to try and push on in what is supposed to be a new dawn for us (with the understanding of a change may not work, everybody knows the risks)

Honestly, no. That's basically going into "alternative facts". Facts are facts. Opinions 100% can be wrong.
