2025/26 David Moyes

I lived in Brentford and watched them a fair but in league 2, 1 and championship cos it was local, dirt cheap and i could only afford to get up to GP 4-5 times a season ( away games in London were more doable ).

It's hard not to be impressed by seeing how these smaller clubs are leapfrogging dinosaurs like Moyes.

They're braver, they're honest, they're owners are WAY ahead of the croneys who nearly relegated us.

Moyes had his day and should go with pride. He's not part of the answer to our awful football, he's contributing to it.
Agree, and not sure what the point is of denying other clubs some degree is success just because they will have a bigger budget etc due to European football. We have had three cracks at Sunderland his year. They secured 4 points off us and knocked us out of the cup. It’s them or Brentford so I say good luck to them.

At the moment we don’t have the players who can impose themselves on a game. We simply need more quality throughout the team.

That said, O’Brien’s mistake was key and you could argue Moyes should have pulled him off, shifted Garner to the right and tried to stiffen up the midfield. But it’s all marginal stuff. We’re way short of being a top team.
That would've meant putting Patterson on or leaving Coleman on for 30 minutes.

Moyes already had his plan with Coleman, so JOB was never getting taken off.

I hope, if he is to be our manager next season, he is not allowed to waste transfer money on aging players who are going to be surplus to requirements for whoever comes after Moyes, but, who will be on big contracts that mean we can't shift them. It is also a waste of time the transfer committee bringing in younger players who Moyes will not play. If he is still here next season he should be allowed a couple of loans because we will only end up mid table again. To my mind he shouldn't be here next season, but if he is, please don't let him saddle us with the likes of Soucek et al

And then they actually play the players they buy too. Just.too.Weird.
Mad isn’t it

I saw someone say that if Bournemouth bought Dibling, we’d now be talking about him as one of the best young players in the league and that if we bought Rayan, he’d be rotting on the bench, regressing.

Found myself thoroughly agreeing with that assumption.

You go back to him the other day and all that stuff he came out with about experience and his usual bs he comes out with, yet again today he has been schooled by another foreign manager with little PL experience and a team largely made up of younger foreign players with little experience of the league. However Moyes thinks the opposite is the way forward.
Exactly!

Davey 'no-Europe' Moyes, telling Bournemouth, Brighton and co how it's done.

If he goes now, he's been terrific in his first stint, and stabilizing just when we needed it in his 2nd stint. Go with pride Davey. But go now.

I meant to say Brighton!
So we should keep Moyes because Brighton, after Hughton, took a risk on a Championship manager? I don’t see the correlation at all. Potter gave young signings a chance at Brighton; Moyes hasn’t really done that so far.

Also, there’s nothing to “imagine”, he left, and they’ve clearly improved since moving on. What’s the actual argument here? You’re comparing a newly promoted Brighton side at the time to Everton??????????

That’s assuming he somehow plays exponentially better there for no provable reason. Hes never had a good game here, whether it be cameo or start.

No they need stability etc
Does make you laugh a little when people talk about stability for us, if we were to look in the dictionary about football stability it’s probably us that shows up, in the same league for over seventy years. Don’t get relegated, don’t get the top spots for that last forty years. Just in the mid range.
