What’s spun there?Thats one way of spinning things i guess
Have we been winning at home and I’ve not realised?

Tarks has done all right for us and he certainly wasn’t a flashy signing and most thought he was pretty ordinary when we signed him. That's perfectly fine. I just don't think buying stop gap ageing ordinary footballers is the way forward but maybe I'm mistaken
Tete has a had a pretty solid season so far , usually startsTarks has done all right for us and he certainly wasn’t a flashy signing and most thought he was pretty ordinary when we signed him.
Tete on a free would have likely been decent business and would have made the team more balanced and meant JOB played CB rather than Keane.
I wouldn’t spend money on him via a fee but as a free transfer, would have been a solid deal in my view.
They had been watching Rhol and he was linked earlier in the summer, but Moyes wanted soucek, and that went right up to the end of window. Did West Ham want to much ? Did soucek say no, did TFG say no and then they switched back Rhol95% of deadline day signings are panic buys. Proper clubs don’t do their business on deadline day.
It’s cute that you have faith in our recruitment team I suppose. Not sure what it’s based on but I wish I had it.
And didn't play either of them for the first couple of years.20 years ago btw.
Baines was involved in 22 league games first season and 31 the 2ndAnd didn't play either of them for the first couple of years.
Centre backs are different to full backs as they don't need 'legs' as much. Tarkowski wasn't ordinary as he has England caps and was a decent coup. Anyway the point I'm making is if we are to move forward as a club then signing the likes of Tete isn't going to help in that achievementTarks has done all right for us and he certainly wasn’t a flashy signing and most thought he was pretty ordinary when we signed him.

Tarks ha 2 England caps. Let’s not make out he is a regular. Tete has 14 for Netherlands.Centre backs are different to full backs as they don't need 'legs' as much. We won on Saturday, great result, so what. You either believe in Moyes as the man to take us where we want to be, or you don't. A win here, a loss there doesn't change any considered opinion on Moyes. I think he's a competent manager slowly being left behind. He is not the man who will develop young players. So, either the club decides to abandon the young player first transfer model and pivots to "seasoned pros" like Tomas Soucek to placate the manager, or it changes the manager. Hanging on to Moyes and expecting Tyler Dibling to be "PL ready" in 2027 is a recipe for disappointment. He's almost certainly staying on and it scares me a bit to be really honest. We're playing football in a style that lags behind most of the rest of the league. We struggle to score goals. We insist on relying on signings that have "PL experience" which largely means we're sending out players better teams didn't want and/or are past their best.
That's a recipe that can get bad in a hurry. The line between 8th and 16th is as thin as it has ever been. We cannot stand still and expect we won't be passed. I don't trust him to drive the improvement that is necessary.
True about the cap thing. Tarkowski also brought leadership too. But the situation was different then as we were broke and had to make these kind of signings. Now we're in a better position moving forward and to me signing Tete wouldn't have made a massive difference to our season and as he's 30 would of meant another player to clear off the wage bill in future seasons. Stop gap signings or short-term signings are okay if you're bringing in Grealish quality but not for a full back who didn't have any of the big boys interestTarks ha 2 England caps. Let’s not make out he is a regular. Tete has 14 for Netherlands.
In hindsight, Tarks has been an excellent signing, but at the time, it wasn’t flashy, and it felt very ordinary, it wasn’t exciting and lots on here were questioning it.
Tete would have done a job for us in the short term which helps to progress us longer term.
Didn't he last about 2 weeks as a manager before falling out with all of the players?

I read it and then seen Troy deeney
