2025/26 David Moyes

Just watched his post match PC.

He seemed more relaxed and probably relieved too. He's clearly affected by the home results.

Away wins pulling us through he needs to sort the home games. After Burnley though it's Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City they won't be easy. And Arsenal and Brentford away coming up.

Newcastle win was big to keep us ticking along the Burnley game is massive.

The conversation around Moyes is ridiculous on all sides. You can question the home form, while appreciating the away form. You can look at the points dropped and say he should have done better, while appreciating the overhaul from the team we were just over 12 months ago. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

Moyes will get another 12 months but I don’t expect his contract to be renewed.

The club needs a bit of stability while we rebuild. The evidence available to us shows it’s more likely to go wrong then go well if we twist now.

We have seen marked improvement in the last 12 months.
Away from home we've been excellent, albeit with a sort of strategy that simply backfires at home. Low possession, soak up pressure and hope to hit teams on the break. There has been improvement absolutely, and there's no taking away from that, but equally the football is really poor quality considering the players we have.
So whilst there's significant progress away from home there has been horrendous form at home and we've totally lost the opportunity of making the HDS into a fortress that frightens visiting teams. Let's not forget that Bournemouth, Brentford and Newcastle absolutely pumped us at home and we've been dumped out of both cups (which is always our only chance of a trophy) by so called lesser clubs. With the exception of Forest the home games we have won we've been rather fortunate.

Very good win yesterday. It was a game suited for our style, strengths. One of the main reasons I see in the difference of home and away form are the opponents and how they approach games.

We had Wolves, Leeds, Bournemouth, Brentford and United at home lately. These are teams that don't take the initiative and also like to counter themselves. We conceded most of goals against them in counters as well.

Burnley will force us to create and have the ball and not to sit back, so a few tweaks in the starting line up are needed. It's something we struggled with for years. We surely need to attack them with pace and put laces in their legs.

It’s nice not to have to be a West Ham, Spurs or Forest supporter today, we’ve been there far too often in the last five or so years.

Moyes has done reasonably well in terms of a points haul, but I understand a little of the frustration around season not being quite as good in points return as the games he managed last season, home form, team selections and playing style.

I’m conflicted on him, wouldn’t have a massive issue if he stays on, but equally wouldn’t have a massive issue if they shook hands and said thanks this summer.

Moyes points total is good to very good. The home form is bad & the football style isn’t entertaining.

The unknown issue with Moyes is how TFG view

* The home form & entertainment on the ability to attract sponsors & monetising the stadium

* the lack of development of the £100m invested in players at the beginning of the season & it’s impact on the ability to attract further young talent, especially if there is the rumoured £200m available this summer.

Hey good win yesterday but he's needs to build consistency and actually win some home games , to do that he needs to rotate his team and alter his approach which he seems too stubborn to currently adapt. We have a very challenging run in and he can't make the necessary changes some of you clamoring for him to sign a life long contract might waiver after some suboptimal results

How did Bournemouth “pump” us at home? Does that mean we pumped them away from home? Does it also mean we pumped every team we’ve beaten at home? Again, I don’t understand why people have to get really weird in this thread and start exaggerating to cartoonish proportions rather than properly critique the performance of the manager.

Not much stability having next season with a manager with just a year left on his contract

Link us up with all asking for a life long contract when you have time please. TIA

Obviously we can't predict the future but if he continues to improve us as much in his 2nd year as he has done in the 1st then he'd be very unlucky to be out of a job.
