2025/26 David Moyes

The conversation around Moyes is ridiculous on all sides. You can question the home form, while appreciating the away form. You can look at the points dropped and say he should have done better, while appreciating the overhaul from the team we were just over 12 months ago. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

Moyes will get another 12 months but I don’t expect his contract to be renewed.

The club needs a bit of stability while we rebuild. The evidence available to us shows it’s more likely to go wrong then go well if we twist now.
The frustrating thing is if he would just take a step back and look at the mistakes he's making he could progress the team at home and be the guy to get us up the league. Just play Patterson at right back at home, put Armstrong in the middle with Garner and Dewsbury Hall and O'Brien and Branthwaite at centre half so you can push further up the pitch. It's not rocket science.

Moyes points total is good to very good. The home form is bad & the football style isn’t entertaining.

The unknown issue with Moyes is how TFG view

* The home form & entertainment on the ability to attract sponsors & monetising the stadium

* the lack of development of the £100m invested in players at the beginning of the season & it’s impact on the ability to attract further young talent, especially if there is the rumoured £200m available this summer.
You are right about the " unknown"...we know very little about TFG. At this point, Everton policies and decisions could be being made by an agentic AI model ( only half joking).

DM finished one season just above the bottom 4 - Gregg BK partner in Blue Holdings wanted rid as we were moving to The Kings Dock which fell through - HK & CH won us a lot of silverware - DM like Gordon Lee won us nothing ....

DM has been sacked by 3 other clubs - a win is a win but if you think 34 % possession is entertaining football look at our home form - its not the new stadia its DMs team selections & his methods sadly -

Yes he has a limited squad , but he knew back in June we needed better full backs ....
Didn't HK also take us to the brink and get sacked several times and prior to success bored us with 0-0s before it turned. We could have +50% possession like Spurs & Brighton though and it'd make people happy.

Obviously we can't predict the future but if he continues to improve us as much in his 2nd year as he has done in the 1st then he'd be very unlucky to be out of a job.

He’s gone backwards v last season

Moyes stats

Last season 19 games 31 points ppg 1.63
This season 28 games 40 points ppg 1.43

You make Premier League management sound so easy!
