His bigger money transactions weren't great but it's a numbers game getting loads of 2 bob players gives you more chance of hitting paydirt than gambling on one or two high price players and it shows.
David Moyes had substantial funds from sales twice.
With Lescott :
He bought 2 CBs, both which won Player of the Season awards last Season and a pretty gash Russian fella who we loved, but was quite terrible.
With Rooney :
He bought :
Lescott, who was outstanding and was sold for 22m, Andrew Johnson, who scored a lot of goals and was sold for a nice profit, AVDM, waste of talent, Phil Neville, good 6 Years, great Captain, Mikel Arteta, best Everton player for a LONG time, sold at a tidy profit and Kroldrup, I dont need to say how that went.
So please, can you point me towards "On the few occasions that David Moyes had substantial funds available as a result of selling players he rarely brought in players that have been outstanding successes."?
Theres lots of sticks to beat Moyes with, his transfer policy is the wrong 1.
Moyes was a wizard when spending £6m ish or less, but on the four occasions he spent more than that, only one was a successful signing. That's not disputable.
Bent and Cahill were bought with the Rooney money. Then Arteta came on loan.
Yep, then you've got to factor in all the ridiculous talent that Moyes wanted but wasn't given the "big" money to pay for.
This list is every bit as impressive as his bargain buy list (can't be arsed to remember them all now - there should be a list on here somewhere, like - but the Hazards, Essiens, Dzeko's etc)
Sorry lads, Moyes is untouchable on transfers. x
In a previous life, Moyes was John Houlding, the [Poor language removed].
Heroic mate, calling up names Moyes DIDN'T sign as vindication of his transfer prowess is just magnificent.
As someone completely bewildered by the whole Moyes "thing" I salute you - just brilliant.
If man Utd sell Rooney, do we get any money?
Yes we get 5% of any fee over 30 million, also on the last Wednesday of every month we are allowed to go round to his house and eat his dinner.
