This is professional level sport, its about winning things. Making up the numbers is not an option at this level. Even when you win you should still be looking to see if there are areas where you can improve. If you just want to jump onboard for the ride and clap hands then you are probably better off watching non league football.
You can still win trophy's, titles, and have a charge at the playoffs in non league. Still the same aspirations, just a different level..

No VAR..

Non league does have a lot going for it.

I want us back in Europe, challenging for trophies, winning derbies etc. Otherwise it’s a choice between mid table mediocrity or relegation scraps. I’ll be more optimistic if we show we can push on for the end of this season and then keep building upward next season.

Looking at our fixtures, what would you class as pushing on? Looking at our next 4 games in particular, if we were in a mini league of 5, whose squad would you take 1st? 2nd? 3rd? 4th an 5th?

cautiously optimistic about finishing top eight and securing europe for next season!

hoping newcastle, fulham, etc fall away and we continue on this relatively warm streak we are currently enjoying

Based were we were 14 months ago, I am pretty alright. We're heading towards the right direction, but shouldn't have reached the ceiling with were we are as of today.

Change your vote as/when.

I'm feeling pretty optimistic at the moment... I'd say a 7.

We apparently have a few quid to spend this summer, sign some full backs, keep Grealish, some pace out wide and someone like Liam Delap and I think we'll be top 7.

If we do sneak into that Conference League, I just hope we don't allow our recruitment to go down depth rather than quality - we made that mistake under Koeman.
Might finish top 7 this season anyway

I went to a cup final with my non-league team two seasons ago. I wanted them to win that just as much as I want Everton to win something. Non-league fans aren't there to make up the numbers, everyone, at every level, wants success. It's just that success looks different depending on context.

They lost on penalties by the way, Garforth Town AFC that.

6 for me.

We have reason to hope, but complancency is a huge danger if people remain "satisfied" with the current state of play beyond the summer. Lots depends on the owners' ambition. The summer will tell a tale.

Same currently, except for Delap - think he's not 'it'.

7 for me. We're doing well position wise and there's a chance to end the season even higher and build on that for next season. I'm not getting too carried away though, and the initial point about our position could very easily change my mind depending on results.
