Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

In hindsight, I think I had it a couple of weeks back.
Wasn’t the usual symptoms, but literally could hardly move.
I’d had a hospital visit a day or so before as well so probs picked it up there as my App did ping.

Hope you are ok.
Yeah the fatigue is a tell-tale sign mate.

You'd had COVID before hadn't you?

As Prevenger said, this is his first time... it just shows that the natural immunity does really boost probably more than the vaccines. But clearly have both and you have more protection.

I'd be lying if I said I felt worse now than I did before Xmas when I didn't have COVID but had a cold. The only thing is that draining fatigue that hits me on an evening.

I’m sure I’ve had it at the start of it all as I was working in a big shop.
I’ve never tested positive though.
Had both jabs, not the booster yet, but my lads worked in that shop all the way through and they are all off with it.

I was doing a detox thing for tests the other week and I put my fatigue and other symptoms down to that if I’m honest.

Hopefully you feel better soon mate.

FWIW, I can say for certainty that this time around is far better than the first time I had it. Appreciate there's a load of factors in play with that. It just feels like a bit of a cold and then the fatigue sets in at night which, for me, is the only tell tale sign that it's even COVID, because it's that symptom that was the worst for me in the summer. Hopefully you don't have any symptoms that get worse than that!!

Wouldn't blame yourself. Everyone is going to be exposed to Omicron. It is for all purposes very much like a cold in how it spreads and nobody goes around blaming themselves for catching a cold!

Already through the worst of it I think (I hope), temperature came down and the headache has more or less shifted. Very quick really, reminds me of the side effects I had from the second jab, which absolutely pulverised me for about 24 hours and then just disappeared.

Know there are lots of questions re what various models use as parameters, Warwick‘s report goes into quite a lot of detail. For instance they are using a wide range for severity “There are no credible claims of higher severity for Omicron compared to Delta, and therefore in this work we consider a range of relative severities from 10% to 100%.”

Can’t wait for Boris and his chums to claim that their tactics have been a raging success when infection levels drop like a stone later.

The reality of course will be a lack of available testing resulting in fewer cases being detected.

Covid deaths are now lower than in August and September……sometimes you have to accept that they do get somethings right……

Agree. I'm tempted not to get my booster jab to be honest. I still get a pain in my arm where I had the first two shots.. 6 months a go.
Ask them to put it in the other arm ...... The nurse told me to let my arm go limp, imaging it was touching the floor stopped the dead arm after side effect ..... It worked for me my arm was great after the first Jab it was sore two tense causes the bruising etc....

Lots of great detail in there isn’t there although the under 20s hospitalization rate is a bit concerning. Would particularly like a breakdown of what % are incidentals on that one.

Seeing an increase in pediatric hospitalizations in Omicron hotspots here in US too.

Its the great worry really isn't it mate, of all the talk of unvaxed, people forget that the largest cohort are under 12's and very much the broad base of all our population pyramids, yet doesn't seem out there in the public or media narrative as a potential issue of concern, as someone once told me from the moment you are born the number of people older than you never increases.
