Sorry mate, I got the wrong end of the stick.

I'm just seeing loads of stuff like 'the UK is underreporting etc but we know that. However, we can get a good gauge on when the peak is happening by when the confirmed cases peak. It's a smaller percentage of one bigger number, obviously, but as infections peak, so will confirmed cases.

Yeh in fairness there is a narrative at the moment that they're purposely restricting tests which isn't really true. They're doing more testing than at any other point in the pandemic, it's just that the demand is crazy at the moment.

Yeah. Bit of a cough, sore throat. Some even less. It's nothing. But spreading like wildfire.
It's the fatigue for me.

I worked yesterday, until 11:30, and was absolutely gone by about 8pm. Same again on Tuesday except I was off work, but like I was just shattered by 7/8ish.

The fatigue came with real dizziness and nausea when I had COVID in the summer, but this time it's just that I feel tired. Waking up is really hard but once I'm up and had a lemsip I feel loads better. Other than that it's just a blocked up head really. I appreciate I do have natural antibodies and the two vaccine doses so there's a lot of 'immunity' in my system.

I had a cold before Christmas that wasn't COVID and it was worse than this that's for sure. But I guess my immune system was weakened by that and hence, got the rona again.

I almost felt bad for getting my PCR the other day because really I could have guessed i was positive form the lateral flow and my symptoms.

Then again, I tested negative yesterday on LF but my PCR from Tuesday came back positive. But then felt rough last night and this morning and today's LF is positive.

I'm recording my symptoms online and the Zoetracker thing which is good to get a better gague.

I have heard of a few people who have just isolated based on positive lateral flow tests. Getting a PCR can be quite difficult. If you take 2 or 3 lateral flows and they're all positive you can be quite confident that you've got it.

yeah issue was I only had one other LF and my mum needed it for work, so I managed to get in at a walk-in PCR near mine and I was done in an hour.

More LFs arrived yesterday though so no issue now

my mum and dad, both boosted, and at least my dad has definitely had COVID already too, have both shown no symptoms so far and are both still testing negative.

Given Omicron symptoms usually present themselves within 1-2 days I'm hoping they've avoided it

EDIT: When I had COVID in the summer, I never bothered getting a PCR. I was ill, my whole family had it bar my Mum and I knew I had it.

Know there was a lot of criticism of the Omicron models, so far their central estimates seem to be tracking hospitalizations pretty well

Good to see mech vent numbers still low.

Is there anything around that confirms how long the hospital stays are, Legs?

Seen reports the average stay is 2 nights but not seen that confirmed
