Yep my dad is due to have his next year – just asked.

Again, is it not something which could be rolled out earlier though in a situation like this?

I mean I know there's enough strain now but back in Feb/late Jan could they not have said we're going to start rolling this out to people under that age bracket or especially those with 'underlying issues'. It won't stop COVID-19 but if it can contribute towards a stronger immune system then surely it could have helped.

Again not saying it's some mad conspiracy. Just seems another step which could feasibly have been taken.
I have had the pneumonia jab many years ago it's a one off jab.
As becoming a grade 2 Diabetic the nurse then explained it takes a while for the jab to build up any immune defence in future life hence Diabetics should get it once diagnosed....any time of the year unlike the annual flu jab .....so as soon as it is available get it done asap ;)

Its as old fashioned as anything with a clean tea towel over your head with any menthol oil added to boiling water and you inhale the steam for clearing the airways - lungs in particular - with paracetamol perhaps a great idea late pm and mid am ....... daily - eyes might water a bit but yes it will do no harm - when that Sars was about my wife and daughter were ill for an age antibiotics the lot for weeks never touched it whatever they had, but the symptoms where Sars like - they did that for a week and it cleared away slowly a big improvement......3 GPs at the practice - the last one recommended that - an older GP ;)

Always use that method, over the sink but using Vicks . Clears your nose and throat.

Fair enough then.

Just seen the other link you posted.

So does that mean they could be rolling it out to other people in the vulnerable category too? Or, actually, anyone? Given severe pneumonia is probably more likely to kill a younger person than COVID-19 itself?
Bacterial pneumonia? I think I've had this vaccine anyhow. There's lots of different bacteria responsible for causing pneumonia though.

Here in Vegas, the panic buying lasted about a week. There was no TP, meat, milk, eggs, bottled water etc. to be found anywhere.

Now it's calmed down. Yesterday and today the store near me had everything in stock (some more than others) all except eggs.

I'd like to think things will settle down a bit in parts of the UK by next week or so.
