Case numbers will rise slightly this week and next but will collapse afterwards as we stick our needles into young adults.
 
Hospital figures - 3 deaths were announced today, up one on yesterday’s late revealed total of 2, and down 1 on last Monday. All 3 were in English hospitals, again up 1 on yesterday and the exact same total as last week. The 7 day rolling average holds at 6.43

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 3 deaths were announced today, down 3 on yesterday and down 2 on last Monday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 5.71

For the 60 day cut off, 3 deaths were announced today, down 4 on yesterday and down 2 on last Monday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 15.86
 
Rowing back from no masks and ending SD next month apparently. Until there is more data re Indian Variant. Makes total sense. The test events, so far, and the vax data, so far, are encouraging. But not conclusive.
Am sure they’ll get the data in good time and it will be the news we want.

Good times ahead. Lockdown is such a stupid word also, as well as furlough. All words we never knew existed until last year.
 
so.. i ca 't go and visit my mum now as Burnley is a covid variant hotspot and the GOV have told people not to travel in or out.

I thought this was coming to an end?!?
 
This paper reports the persistent production of antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in the form of long-lived bone marrow plasma cells in patients for up to 8 months after infection.

‘Overall, we show that SARS-CoV-2 infection induces a robust antigen-specific, long-lived humoral immune response in humans.’
